This is a lovely venue however as a resident of Wesleyan Chase. I wish that Lawson Hall would remember that they are IN a residential neighborhood and that there are families that can hear your music BLARING all into to night. I live right behind it and their last party I could hear in my house the actual lyrics to songs keeping myself and my sons awake!

My husband and I had such a great experience at Khames Jewelers! We were referred there by friends from DC who stopped in on a visit to Virginia Beach and now rave about this shop to everyone. They are so nice and are extremely passionate about what they do. They really take the time to get to know you and will do whatever it takes to make sure you find exactly what you want. We recommend them all the time and will continue to do so!

Hello! Has anyone in VA heard of this venue? Anyone had a wedding here or been to one recently? We've booked this venue but cannot find anyone else that has or any wedding pics. That is starting to make me nervous as I feel this space may be a little bit too small.

Thanks!

“ How do I go about organizing a wedding on the beach in Virginia Beach? ”

My fiancee and I would love to get married on the beach in or near Virginia Beach. The problem is that we're buying and renovating a house at the same time and so we're on a very tight budget. We plan to only have between 10-20 guests there with us at the wedding. We will have a photographer and aren't worried about a reception. Basically I need to know what I need to do, who to contact, etc. in order to organize a very small intimate oceanside ceremony. I would like to have chairs for guests to sit in, an officiant, the actual beach location and that's about it. Every website I look at has pre-made packages that include many things we don't need. Any help would be MUCH appreciated! Thanks!

Of course we will enjoy the beach, but what else it there?

We are planning on going May 21-24.

“ How Anne Married Rob ” by AnneMarriedRob

small bio photo

On Saturday August 18, 2007, we were married in Pasadena, California at La Casita Del Arroyo.

Our August 18th wedding was actual the second wedding we've planned. We originally planned to get married on April 8, 2007, in Virginia Beach, VA (my hometown). Because of planning difficulties and scheduling problems, we postponed and decided to get married closer to where we live.

Our wedding and its snafus would probably make for a great comedy movie. Even with the hiccups and snags, our wedding turned out beautiful and memorable in its own unique and quirky way.

“ Hello everybody ” by travzgirl

hiiiiiiii :)

wedding website

Friend (Maureen, right) and Fellow bride to be and I at the Martha Stewart Brides to Be taping, April 2009

My name is Erin. I'm 23 and I'm engaged. My fiance, Travis, and I have been together since January 26, 2007. Engaged since April 21, 2007 and we're getting married on August 22, 2009 in Richboro, Pennsylvania.

We'll be honeymooning 5 days and 6 nights in Williamsburg, Virginia... one of our favorite vacation spots.

I'll be DIYing almost all the paper goods for the wedding... hoping I have enough time to do everything!!!

<<About Us>>

Travis and I met in January 2007 at work through a mutual friend at the time. I had recently had my monroe pierced and was complaining about how my face was hurting. Travis told me that my face was "killing him." I hated him. For a second.

A few nights later we went on a date where Travis cooked up an awesome spaghetti feast followed with Ben and Jerry's ice cream. It was amazing. The rest is history. =)

Travis proposed right at the turn of April 21, 2007 about 12:30 in the morning. We began engagement ring shopping soon after.

<<ENGAGEMENT PARTY>>

We had our E-Party in August of 2007.... seems like forever ago! Here are some pictures!!!

My future sister in law and Travis' Brothers fiance, His dad, Me, Travis, his mom and his brother

Our candy buffett... wasn't a hit at all. Maybe many people just didn't see it.

Our neighbor did these amazing cookies for us. Going to have her do them as favors for the wedding too.

Our original colors were pink and brown.... result of my cake I attempted to make, lol.

chalk! =)

engagement pops for all our guests! haha

our engagement party invite and our announcement which i made =)

<<CEREMONY & RECEPTION>>

We're getting married August 22, 2009. Our wedding is taking place in Richboro, PA at Northampton Valley Country Club. Both ceremony and reception will be there. Our ceremony will be at 11:30 and performed by Eleanora S. of Journeys from the Heart. The cocktail hour will begin at 12pm with reception at 1.

We will be having out of town guests from Travis' side coming down from upstate New York.

<<MENU>>

Our cocktail hour will begin at 12pm with an assortment of butler odourves....

Assorted cheese and crackers, fresh veggies with dips, bruchetta, fried shrimp, chicken quesadillas, potato pancake, mini beef wellington, mozzarella with fresh basil, phyllo cup with sour cream and caviar, scallops in bacon, oriental veggie dumplings, chicago style beef franks en croute, mushrooms with crab.

Then we will be having a pasta station featuring penne with marinara, tri-colored bowties with vodka sauce and garlic bread.

Our salad will be the Colorful Garden Salad with has fresh greens with julienne of carrot, cucumber wheels, fresh tomato wedges with ranch and balsamic vinaigrette dressing.

Our three main entrees are Chicken tuscany (boneless breast with chicken filled with blend of italian cheeses, sweet italian sausage and complemented with creamy pesto reduction), Filet Mignon au poive and vegetable lasagna. All will be served with green beans with diced red peppers and matchstick carrots as well an an oven roasted mushroom shaped potato.

Our cake will be better pound served with vanilla ice cream and a raspberry puree.

<<REHEARSAL DINNER>>

Our rehearsal dinner will be on August 21st at the Brick Hotel in Newtown, PA in their Ivy Room.

Our menu will consists of Pork Chop, chicken and the crab cake along with a vegetable and salad. I also plan to surprise Travis with a NY Giants grooms cake if possible and if I get the OK from the baker at the hotel. I would like it to look like this....

This is what I will be wearing, from David's Bridal:

<<SAVE THE DATES>>

We DIY-ed the Save The Dates. My mom helped me alot with putting them all together. All paper and envelopes were from Paper and More. Ribbon and magnet from Michaels.

<<TABLE NUMBERS>>

Just started them.... I got the frames from Kohls. I hand painted all the wooden letters which I got from Michaels. Blue backer stock is from Paper and More.

<<HAIR TRIAL>>

<<NAPKINS>>

My future sister in law to be works for Team World and had these napkins printed for our reception with our monogram on them. Love them!!! They're ivory with our circle monogram on them.

“ Ceremony Site ” by bchgrl74

Eric & I are having our ceremony at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd located on NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  Eric's family is primarily Catholic & my family is Baptist so we were looking for a place where we can make the ceremony what we want it to be.  Plus, it's a nod to the fact that Eric & I met while we were both in the Navy.

We are holding the reception at The Lesner Inn down by the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.  Locals of the area will remember it as Henry's.  It's right off of Rudy Inlet and it's got great floor to ceiling windows.  We wanted something nice, but not too stuffy feeling.  I think this is a great fit for us!

“ A little about me... ” by jasminealaine

I grew up (26+ years) in Kansas. Just a small town girl, living in a lonely world. Took the midnight train to Manhattan, KS for college. Oh, sorry. Anyway, after college (Go K-State) I started my career in Kansas City and then moved to Dallas, Tx and on to Virginia Beach, VA. Met Joe, fell in love and moved to NC.  Shortly after the move to NC, Joe proposed on the beach.  He was so nervous and cute!

More random info on Jasmine:

You can often find me in the kitchen cooking up something to eat. My fav thing to cook is sweets, but most sweets are on hold until after the wedding.

I have a quick, sick sense of humor.  I try to keep it to myself or share with Joe.  Not everyone can appreciate it.

I have few girly girl skills.  In fact, if it involves creativity I will be the last one done.

I love to swim, but hate to run.  I started working out with a trainer in February and have lost 25  32 lbs so far.  I'm finally at my weight when I met Joe.  Woo Hoo!

I have two rescue kitties who I love!  Jax is a crossed-eyed Siamese and Juna is a Tonkanese.

A little about me photo 1 <---Jax      A little about me photo 2 <----Juna

I hate the mornings.  I can't fall asleep at night b/c I'm not tired.  But by morning, you just can't get me up.  Even when I go to bed early.  I just hate the mornings.  (Until after my shower a least.)

And I'm loved by Joe!

And I love this poster:

A little about me photo 3

My Ring

I am one lucky girl.  Joe wanted to surprise me, but since we had never talked about rings he didn't know what to get me.  So, he got me a simple 1/2 carat solitaire and then I got to pick out my e-ring.  I am loved and I love this ring.
