Something Sweet by MichelleWe can't say enough nice things about Michelle and her amazing cake! My husband and I both love sweets and cake, and we're not bad bakers ourselves, so we had high standards for our wedding cake. It was absolutely the best cake we've ever had, and so many of our guests came up to us just to tell us that they thought so, too! We got to choose two different flavors, so we had her white chocolate cake with berries, and pumpkin cake with caramel sauce and caramel buttercream, which I think she had just introduced into her cake repertoire. It was perfect for an October wedding. The top tier, which we took with us and ate on our honeymoon, was the richest, most delicious chocolate cake. I actually cried when it was gone.
Michelle was so easy to work with and nice to talk to - she even let us come to her bakery for a second tasting because I was just dying to try one of the cakes on her list that we hadn't gotten to taste the first time. We were definitely more concerned with taste than beauty, but even so, the cake did look as great as it tasted - beautiful icing and sugar flowers! My family is already wondering when the next special occasion will be so that we have an excuse to get another cake from Michelle - we'll definitely be visiting her again for anniversary and birthday cakes!

Elegance by CarbonneauI would give them 0 stars if I could......What a HORRIBLE place! The bridesmaids dresses come in only 3 weeks before the wedding and they kept making excuses about a grace period for them coming in. I was told they would come in 4 weeks earlier but they did not and we all waited for them. So every girl had to scramble to get them altered. Then the flower girls dress was the wrong color and they blamed it on ME! They said since it was not in the notes they took then it must have been my fault. Hey, I am not the salesperson taking down the information. YOU are! Then they had the nerve to say I could buy a colored sash to try to fix it, yet I had to pay for that. They made no attempt to correct the situation and I am still waiting for a phone call from the store owner.....one week later. I will never use them again. They are unprofessional and pass blame off on their customers! Do not use them!

Pronuptia BridalsThe alterations were not completed on my daughter's dress. One of the bra cups was not sewn in all the way and it was not taken in where it was pinned at the first fitting. They handed her some two sided tape but made her pay the whole bill anyway. She was in a hurry so she left. We didn't have time to go back so I did what I could on the alterations myself. I'm glad my daughter the bride disliked them so much on the first visit she refused to by her dress there.

Formal Hair Design by Lynda WilliamsLynda was amazing on my wedding day. I got married in Worcester, MA and I planned the whole wedding from Japan. Lynda was great at answering all of my emails and she was super flexible. I was only in America a week before the wedding, and she made time for me to do a hair trial. She even did a hair trial for my mom. I also had her cut and color my hair and it looked awesome. Lynda left Rhode Island at 4 am so she could start on my bridal party at 6 am in Worcester. We were on a tight schedule, and she finished everyone's hair right on time. Everyone looked incredible. She even did a great job on a very fidgety 4 year old flower girl. My hair was exactly what I wanted, and it stayed in place even through some high flying swing dancing. Lynda was worth three times her rates. She made me look beautiful, even through the jet lag. If you are getting married in Massachusetts, I would consider her before you even look at hair stylists from the Boston area.

Arthur Murray Studio (Worcester)Because my fiance and I live an hour apart, Worcester was a central location for us to meet during the week for dance class. We enjoyed the style of how they teach and they didn’t throw too much at us at once but definitely still challenged us. We are doing a tango, which is more of an improvised dance, but our instructor was able to give us some steps for the beginning, middle and end of the song and then we can play with the rest of it. We met a great group of people at the studio and instead of looking at it as a wedding expense, we looked at it more as a night out.

I'm looking for the Maggie Sottero Isadora Ann dress. I've called a few shops and they tell me that they don't know if they have it or won't tell me at all. I went dress shopping yesterday at Manhattan Bridal in Dedham (see my post dress dilemma) and I want to try this dress on ASAP.
I am planning on calling a bunch of places tomorrow to see if they can tell me, and I will wait on hold as long as I need to for them to go look for me, but I was wondering if any one of you might know where to call/look.

Wondering if one of you lovely ladies could give me a hand. I'm trying to get some addresses for Things Remembered but unfortunately their international server is down so noone outside of the US can access their website right now (I got this info from their facebook page).
My in-laws are heading to the US for a reunion and have offered to pick up a couple of things for me.
So, could one of you who are currently living in the US take a look at their site and do a copy and paste of their locations in Washington State, Boston and Rhode Island?

I'm just starting out with wedding coordination and would like to extend a great offer to all of you wonderful PW ladies. I live in Worcester and if you need day of coordination within an hour's driving time I would like to help you out. I can be there for your entire day to help set up your decorations and make sure everyone is where they need to be when they need to be there.
Right now I can only help with weekend weddings (Saturday or Sunday only) but in July can take on any day of the week. The first five ladies to contract with me will be charged only $100 for the entire days services, along with any organization I can help with for the week preceding the wedding.
