Brandt and Rachel met at James Madison University, in the heart of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Both were active in the Dance program, and spent long hours in Godwin Hall. Brandt having a second major across campus often did not often linger to mingle with the other dancers, as such an opportunity was missed, but perhaps seeds were sown.
Years later however a second opportunity came along. After living with a slew of JMU grads in Park Slope, Brooklyn, Brandt decided to find a place to live by himself. The place he found happened to be directly behind another pair of JMU grads. Now living alone Brandt realized human interaction is nice and began to spend more and more time with his new neighbors. Rachel, of course, was one of these neighbors. After the neighbors shared many hours, a true relationship began with a kiss in a hammock under the cherry blossoms, in what had until just days prior been Rachels' back yard (she had just moved to Chelsea!). Though then sperated by 3 train transfers rather than 300 feet things worked out and Rachel eventually moved back to South Slope and the two have been living together happily ever since.
