Our Story

Sparks flew....

I thought he was a cocky jerk. He thought I was a partying princess. Of course, neither are true. So much for first impressions! Eventually we discovered that we share a rabid passion for college football, chicken wings, nascar, competition and politics (both die hard Republicans, of course!).

It didn't take very long at all to see that we were made for each other. :)

Josh proposed on November 9, 2008 at Amicalola Falls. We hiked around the bottom of the falls, walked halfway up, then got lazy (and hot - and Josh wouldn't take off his coat at all, but I had no idea it was because he was hiding the ring box in it!) and drove to the top. We walked around for awhile, stood in line for the bathroom (until I saw a spider and freaked), then made our way back to the car. We stopped in the field near the waterfall and talked for a minute - and although I don't remember the conversation, I remember him saying that he was nervous and I asked why. He said, because of this - and got on one knee, pulled out the most beautiful ring I've ever seen, and asked me to marry him.

And apparently, I said thank you. Always polite, this one!

I was born and raised in Tennessee, and I love all things TN - including Volunteer football, barbecue, classic rock and the mountains. I love teeny little southern towns with town squares and main streets, art deco design, and all things vintage (hence our wedding venue). I want more tattoos than my purse will allow. I can beat any man in a burping competition. I've always marched to the beat of my own drum, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm incredibly outspoken and blunt, both of which Josh counts as my attributes, which is a first. :) But I expect the same honesty from those around me. When I grow up (IF I ever grow up), I want to be a writer and a political analyst, but for now, I'm a Legal Administrator for corporate attorneys. I'm still in college (year 212 and counting....) and I'm starting to consider making it a profession.

Ever hear the old adage about kissing frogs? I had to kiss flat out TROLLS to find my prince. But now that I have, I'm happier than I've ever been. I can't wait to marry Josh and have little TN fans!

I was born and raised in Cartersville, GA, but I'm a rabid Auburn football fan (WAR DAMN EAGLE!!). I bleed blue and orange but I'm marrying a TN Vol anyway (she's hot). I love to spend time with friends playing corn hole, flag football and just enjoying a cold beer. I'm a fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Falcons but college football season is my favorite time of the year. I'll argue politics anyday, but you can only get so far with a liberal before it's pointless. Every now and then, I get to prove Layla wrong (rarely - she's pretty smart) but I do enjoy it when it happens! :) I'm the most competitive person you'll probably ever meet, but I'm not a jerk about it.

I'm becoming an aficionado on the grill this summer, you'll usually find me in the backyard making food. I'm the store manager of Lid's in Kennesaw, GA and I love my job. I can't wait to start a family with Layla and have our own little Auburn Tigers.
