Christmas Morning of 2009  I found a note in my christmas stocking hung over  the fire place.  In the bottom of the stocking was a small strip of paper that had a riddle on it. I looked at kurt and knew he had written the creative riddle. It was the start of many others scattered around the house apart of my scavenger hunt to find my Christmas gift. The last creative riddle stated " A Modern coachman and coach will carry you, be ready one hour before two,  If more info you need be serious don't chatter. Look carefully on the step of the ladder"

An adorable London Taxi cab  drove up to my parents home, I packed my over night bag and got in.  We drove down the coast to the beautiful Pelican Hill Resort that looks over a luscious green golf course and the pacific ocean. After a walk around the grounds of the property, Kurt made it clear that we were only there for drinks all of a golf cart showed up and told me to get in.  We drove to this gorgeous bungalow overlooking the ocean. It was huge, with different rooms and fireplaces in each living areas. I jumped on the bed with glee so happy to be staying there.  Kurt and I love Pelican Hill since it resembles Italy so much.  Kurt turned on the fire place at the edge of the giant bed and as I sat on the bench in front of the fire place  he got onto his knee and asked me to marry him.... I said there is nothing in the world I'd rather do. Ten minutes later a bottle of Champagne showed up with flowers from the hotel staff, since everyone was in on it.  Kurt and I shared a glass of bubbly sitting by the fire over looking the ocean and he said "the reason I chose this resort is because I know how much it reminds you of Italy and I chose this large bungalow because I would like to have your family and friends join us tonight in celebration of our engagement". That evening was wonderful ....a christmas memory that I will cherish forever.

Attempting to capture the qualities of Lauren in a short paragraph is as difficult as describing your favorite book using only one, three-letter word.  If you’re reading this, then you probably know her well enough that words like passionate, beautiful, adventurous, determined, elegant and witty have already come to your mind.   

However, I’d like to highlight some aspects of her personality that may be new to you.  For instance, did you know that she’s a natural athlete and excels at any sport she tries?  Did you know that she makes the best pasta sauce from scratch that I’ve ever tasted?  Did you know that she endures a terrible fear of airplane turbulence because she loves her destinations so much?  Did you know that after meeting with friend, she can’t wait to share with the world how truly excited she is for that person’s good fortune?  Whether it’s a new job, new boyfriend or new hairdo, she’s as happy for that person as she would be for herself?  Did you know that tears well-up in her eyes at the mere sight of a stranger in a wheelchair?  Did you know that she has written me eighty-two “Thank You” and “Just Thinking of You” cards since we’ve met?
