WEDDING STATIONARIES

Wedding Invites

Ours was a Garden Themed wedding. We wanted our invitation cards to also bear that garden theme. So we designed a monochrome (burgundy and white) flora vector as the main motif of our card design.

We also thought of combining both the envelope and card into one piece. So we did a three fold card that folds into an envelope.

As you can see we even designed our LIONEL CHARITY seal and the front when the card is folded, to create a tinge of elegance of the event.

At the back portion of the folded card, noticed we also created a space to fill in our guest names. We find this method came in handy when we needed to hand out invitation cards. Usually the guests' name is written on the card then slot into the envelope and when it's time to give out the cards, it's usually a norm to re-write the names on the envelope with a pencil. Oh well.. our design to have the names of guest outside was really a no hassling for us.

Wedding Program Book

Once again the Garden Theme comes in for the design of our Wedding Program Book. We shopped for the Warner Press series of Programe Covers. We got them at a discounted price from one of the Christian bookshops in town. Warner Press is an UK imported brand that has been known for their consistently new and updated designs. We were kinda bored of the half fold covers so we picked a burgundy rose 3 fold cover design and off we were to handmade the rest of the program book. All in all we only spent about RM 60 for 300 copies of program covers books!

Here's how we designed our whole Wedding Program Book.

  • Covers were bought from the stores
  • Inside left: Order of Service
  • Inside right: Acknowledgement
  • Inner Fold-Left and Center: We printed our song list and lyrics and tied the song sheets with a thin burgundy ribbon

Wedding Thank You Cards

As for the thank you cards design we adapted in the flora motif of the wedding invites and handmade our thank you cards. It was very cost efficient and best of all it was the personal touch that counts.

Once again to do away with envelopes, We used 1 inch burgundy ribbons and white gift ribbons to create a bow that somewhat holds the card.

Wedding Guest Cards

Instead of the common pricey and plain guestbooks... We wanted a sense of fun, genuineness and a personal touch from our guests. The solution, "We handmade our guest cards too!". Not only did we have our personal designs but we also saved 50% of the cost of a buy-off-the-shelf-guestbook.

So we started to work on the design of our Guest Cards the way we wanted it instead. And on these cards we created columns with questions for the guests to fill in and share their thoughts with us.

Interestingly even some toddlers gave us their piece of mind. Because the cards were created to be personal even babies could just scribble their names and fix their cutie little thumb and toe prints on the cards. Honestly we did had huge fun reading all the guest cards. We laughed at some of the drawings our guests drew for us. We smiled at some of the hilarious yet true comments. We cherished the memories that our guests had of our wedding day.

To add a little sophistication to the simplicity of the card, we did a twin tie of two colored laces at the sides of the cards.

Our Guest Cards were distributed after the ceremony as each guest entered the ballroom and got seated awaiting the march in of the bride and groom for the reception. During the wait for the bride and groom they had ample time to seat in comfort as colored felt pens were passed out for the guest to relax and write the guests cards.

Wedding Favors

We ordered two sets of wedding favors for the guests.

Garden Ceremony Favors:

For the garden ceremony, we thought that the foldable Chinese Fan would be sweet yet useful for an outdoor event.

We got 200 pcs of those fans, printed our tag on and YUP!! they're ready for giveaways!! We had our ushers pass out these fans to our guests as they entered into the garden. We personally felt that it was important to have these guest favors passed out individually so that our guests would feel welcome and very honored, as we have personally experienced stepping into weddings without even being noticed by anyone. Weddings are occasion to bring family and friends to together, not a party time for anyone and everyone.

Reception Favors:

The ballroom reception was a grand event and so a warm gift was placed at each guests' seat at the dining table, to once again thank the presence of our guests. For that we got our guests, burgundy rose essence tea light candles. Burgundy ribbons and a little bling bling ornament were added to the presentation of that favor.

Wedding Gifts

Gifts for the girls:

Now if you'd prefer not to give ang-pows (cash) to thank your beautiful bridesmaids, you could consider gifts. Our girls were FASCINATED with their gifts.

For us we choose to pack the lovely bridesmaids each a huge bag of beauty products. We particularly love the bags' design. They're Totally SWEET!!!

And for the little girl that was my flower-girl and ring bearer, the girl who sang us a special as well as the sweet girls who were our ushers, we packed smaller gift bags filled with cosmetics. The poker dots design were just absolutely CUTE!!

These are the LITTLE PRETTY details that I loved in my Dream Wedding!!

Wedding Memoirs

Compiling all our wedding videos and photos into a VCD with a personalize cover was one of the best keepsake that each of your guest would ever want to have.
