Need something to do? something to eat? somewhere to just hang out? Here is all the information you need to have an awesome time in our small town.
This is a former state park and has multiple playground and picnic areas, and it's on the lake so there is boating and a fishing bridge.
This park is a camping grounds and also has playgrounds and picnic areas.
This place has the best pizza in town, but if you have high blood pressure, be warned! You have never seen so many toppings on one pizza before in your life. I recommend the Hochstatter (named after a former state senator), a delicious combination of pepperoni, bacon (not Canadian bacon), and olives.
You didn't really come all this way to sit in a movie theater, did you? But in case you did, this is the only one in town. They only accept cash, by the way, so be prepared before you go.
This is a great little cafe and ice cream place, founded and owned by a friend of my family. It's a good place to hang out too; my brother goes there a lot.
McCosh is a great park because it is close to the Aquatic Center and it has a picnic area, two playgrounds (one of which is wheelchair accessible), it's on the lake, and it hosts the Farmer's Market every weekend. McCosh also features an amphitheater (pictured) where there are free concerts almost every weekend in the summer.
This is a japanese-style garden that was made in honor of Moses Lake's partnership with Yonezawa, Japan. It's very beautiful.
Lake Bowl is our local bowling alley. And since the State of Washington prohibits smoking inside any public building, you can actually stay here a couple hours and not pass out!
This restaurant serves sandwiches and burgers as well as hot entrees. You can also get espressos, quiche and other baked goods, wine by the bottle, and lots of home decor accessories.
This is Moses Lake's "fancy" restaurant. As the name suggests, it is located near the lake front and there is (covered) outdoor seating. Prices are a little higher than, say, Denny's, but still reasonable.
Our local Farmer's Market is awesome! There is produce, woodworking, arts and crafts, clothing, live music (usually), and most importantly, the Tacos Tecoman stand, home of my favorite tacos anywhere.
The "MAC," as it is commonly known, focuses on the history and ecosystem of the Moses Lake area. It also has a large exhibit on Japan.
If you're up for a little drive, Potholes State Park and Potholes Reservoir are about 30 minutes away (from downtown). Don't worry, the name comes from the shape of the lakes, not the condition of the roads.
This is a great family-style restaurant that is very close to our ceremony & reception site.
Sinkiuse Square is a small area in the middle of downtown that commemorates the tribe of our city's namesake, Chief Moses. There is a mural of Chief Moses nearby with information about him. Also nearby is another mural of a different local hero, Monte Holm. There isn't really anything to do here, but it's a cute little area if you're going to check out downtown. Sometimes on weekends they have bands perform here in the morning/afternoon.
Formerly called the Moses Lake Family Aquatic Center, this place features an Olympic-sized pool, three water slides, a shallow end that goes from 0'0" depth to around 3 feet, a "lazy river," a sand area, lots of grass and trees, and more. Here are their rates:
4 years and under - free
Children 5-12 years - $7
Students 13-17 years - $8
Adults 18-64 years - $9
Seniors 65+ years - $7
This is a tiny little burger place with awesome food and milkshakes. Sort of a drive-in, minus the roller skates.
