Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase
314 E Liberty St
Ann Arbor, MI 48104
(734) 996-9080

Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase is one of Ann Arbor’s most unique entertainment establishments.

Opening in 1984, above the Heidelberg Restaurant as the Mainstreet Comedy Showcase, the intention was to provide live comedy shows featuring the best of the rising young stars in the comedy business. In 1987, the Mainstreet Comedy Showcase moved to our current location on Liberty, below Seva Restaurant.  Our intentions to provide the best in rising talent are proven, as you may recognize some of the big stars that have performed on our stage, such as Tim Allen, Drew Carey, Rosie O’Donnell, Chris Titus, Ellen DeGeneres, Soupy Sales, Paula Poundstone, Elayne Boosler, Rita Rudner and Father Guido Sarducci, to name a few. In addition to the highly recognizable talent we bring in, we have also continued through the years to bring what we feel are the next "big stars" to our stage. Our labors to bring in the best talent results in the quality of show that prompted Rolling Stone magazine to call us "one of the best clubs between the coasts".  In January 2001, the club got new owners, a new name, a new logo and showroom renovations.

Our goal is to provide the best in comedy entertainment and to enhance the shows with a courteous, friendly and efficient staff. We want our customers to feel taken care of from the moment they come in, till they laugh their way out the door. To round out the evening of entertainment we provide our customers with their choice of beverage from a fully stocked bar and snacks to munch on while they watch the show. Our doors are open to everyone 18 and older. The staff and management of the Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase would like to thank you for your patronage and your continued support of live comedy.

Blind Pig
208 S 1st St
Ann Arbor, MI
United States
(734) 996-8555

Ann Arbor has always been a cultural oasis of sorts - a plateau that protrudes through the lackluster blandness of small-town midwestern life, that provides a unique stepping stone between the industrial sprawl of Detroit and the thriving bustle of Chicago.

While this is due largely to the magnitude and diversity of our beloved "U," the quality of Ann Arbor's "scene" owes a lion's share to the reciprocal dialog between the artistic movements - specifically musical ones - that have taken place over the years in those two midwestern giants.

As a result of its location, Ann Arbor has been enriched by such legendary hotbeds of hipness as the Chicago blues scene, Motown R'n'B, early-'70s Detroit punk and early-'90s Detroit techno.

Jimi Hendrix once played here, as did John Lennon. Punk prognosticators Iggy Pop and The MC5 played some of their earliest gigs right inside our own Student Union. George Clinton lives right down the road in Jackson, as does that notorious king of '70s cheese metal Ted Nugent.

Good Time Charley's
1140 S. University
Ann Arbor, MI
United States
(734) 668-8411, (734) 668-2986, (734) 668-8528

When Good Time Charley's opened its doors in 1979 and the first student walked in, a campus tradition was born. Not your typical establishment, we quickly became the "place to be" for both facility and students. Located on S. University and Church, we're easy to walk to and have loads of parking available in a structure across the street.

Alongside other traditions like sharing a once in a lifetime 21st birthday Bell Party, watching Saturday night football games at the Big House, or strolling through classic landmarks like the Engine Ark or The Arb, Good Time Charley's is a place where important memories are made. Good Time Charley's is still hustling after students leave in the summertime, as it quenches dry throats and fills the grumbling stomachs of 500,000 attendees in the Ann Arbor's Art Fair crowd.

Take part in any UofM tradition and you'll most likely end up here, raising a glass and toasting to the good times at Good Time Charley's.

Good Times... at the place where long-lasting memories are made. The place where we'll serve your cold drinks cold, your hot foods hot, fast, friendly, and clean. Good Time Charley's where we take pride in offering you a great place for great times, since 1979.
