Our Story

We have been together for 5 1/2 amazing years, and we could not be more excited about our wedding!

How We Met

Our story began back in summer 2003 when Nick and I crossed paths online through mutual friends. We finally hit it off when we had the opportunity to talk on the phone. I couldn't believe how much I had in common with Nick, as we'd spend hours sharing stories and having question nights asking everything and anything under the sun. That's when we realized exactly how compatable we truly were, but the thought of us meeting face to face seemed slim, considering Nick lived all the way in Michigan and me in Ohio. Then one day it dawned on me that my Uncle lived in Michigan, and he happened to live just minutes from Nick's house, so on a family visit that year to see my Uncle, Nick and I arranged to meet, and the sparks we felt over the phone really played out in person.

June 25th, 2009 will be exactly 5 years we have been together, and the day we began dating couldn't have been more magical if we tried. After Nick visited me in Ohio for a Cedar Point trip with my high school band, we really hit it off as it began raining after my performance and I huddled with Nick to stay warm. When the rain finally died down, it felt clear to me that we would end up dating, because he continued to hold me and we held hands through each line. We ended the night under the stars at a Snoopy performs show, and laughed the night away driving back to my home. By the time we got home it was late, and we cuddled up on the couch to watch some tv, and finally, we shared our first kiss. The best way I could describe it was fireworks, because it had been the most anticipated and magical feeling I have ever experienced. Afterwards Nick asked me to be his girlfriend, and we have been truly inseparable ever since.

Proposal Story

Nick and I have been together since June 25, 2004.  He asked me to marry four years since the day we began dating, June 25, 2008.  I always knew we would get married one day, but I just didn't know when he was going to ask. He surprised me with an anniversary gift after we both got home from work. I opened it up and to my surprise it was a ring. Of course, I completely taken aback as I repeated “A ring?” and he replied with “It’s a will you marry me ring?” and I anxiously said “Yes, of course!” The day proceeded to me getting the ring refitted, calling my sister (my MOH!) to let her in on the news, as we excitedly jumped up and down over the phone. Nick and I then called our parents, siblings, and friends and shared our excitement. To this day I still can’t believe I have been blessed with such an amazing man, and I absolutely can’t wait to marry him next spring!

1 Corinthians. 13:4-13

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
And now faith, hope, and love abide, but the greatest of these is love.
