There are fantastic golf courses located in Columbia, MD. Here is a link to Hobbit's Glen and to Fairway Hills.
How to get there: Train or Bus are the two best options.
For the cheapest train tickets, you need to book with Amtrak on off-peak hours. From Baltimore, Penn Station to New York, Penn Station. www.amtrak.com
There are several options for the bus. The cheapest bus is Mega Bus, but unfortunately, it only leaves out of White Marsh which is about 30 minutes away from Baltimore City. However, if you have a rental car, you can park it right at the pick up spot. www.megabus.com
Where to stay: Although the economy is doing so poorly, it creates great discounts for traveling to normally expensive cities like New York. You can easily find a hotel for under $150 a night. www.hotels.com

Pennsylvania Dutch Country is home to Menonite and Amish farmers - as well as their modern counterparts. If you're heading up here for the day (about a 2 hour drive from Baltimore) we suggest visiting cities such as Intercourse, Bird-in-Hand, Ronks, Strasburg, Lititz and Downtown Lancaster. While there you can tour an Amish homestead and learn about their way of life. There are also several fantastic restaurants in the area.
