UK to US Flight and Travel Information

Travel Tips

Here are some of our favorite travel resources to help you in your journey.

There are no direct flights from Manchester (UK) to BWI (closest airport to Baltimore/Columbia). We recommend flying into BWI if you're staying in Columbia or Baltimore. If you're staying in Washington DC we suggest flying into Reagan Airport (DCA) as it is metro (subway) accessible. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.

On 12 January 2009, UK travellers to the US under the Visa Waiver Programme (VWP), which allows most British Citizen passport holders to visit for up to 90 days without a visa, will require an authorisation via the Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) prior to boarding a carrier to travel by air or sea to the US.   Travellers can register for authorisation online through the ESTA website at https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov and are advised to do so at least 72 hours prior to travel.

We strongly recommend that you obtain comprehensive travel and medical insurance before travelling.  You should check any exclusions, and that your policy covers you for all the activities you want to undertake.
