That was what I was shooting for.  I managed to nearly double that.  I hope you have better luck than I did staying within your budget!

We set a budget of 5000 dollars and we made it work...but we used the 5000 on the following:

  • Photographer - 2500
  • Church (for wedding and reception) - 900
  • Food - 400
  • Cakes - 675
  • Flowers - 450

For the other stuff like decorations and such I slowly bought it over the summer. I also paid a lot for my BM gifts (139.00 each) vs his 25.00 each for his GM!

There was a lot that we could have saved on and I wish we had because our cakes were not right, and with the hurricane blowing through our guestlist dropped from 250 to about 75! We did not need as much food and cake as we got, but I would not have skimped on my photog for anything!

the reception (ceremony at site, outside) $3500

the JOP who did our wedding $175

the dj (my husbands cousin) $200

the photog (family friend who is a pro and just giving us the proofs- love her love her love her) $100

flowers (hot pink roses from Sams) for centerpieces and bouquets (my aunts a florist) $173

vases $59 from (rectangular) Michaels and (squares) Dollar Tree

favors.. undecided.. candy buffet? going to start seeing what the candy sale prices are after all the holidays or koozies, $144

candles (candles4less) tealights and holders 80.97

rings (getting them engraved) $50

cake (my mom makes them) free

transportation (my husband is the GM at a car dealership, so we're just borrowing some nice fancy things from them) free
