I agree with the other girls who have said to keep it in the same color family, but a few shades darker.

We did this with our spare bedroom, but with greys

When you said a wedding canvas, I immediately thought of your gorgeous aqua/red color scheme and thought the orange would clash... but now that I see the pic you've enlarged, I don't think it would clash with muted orange at all.  :)  Since there is no aqua in the photo, it would still work.  Your red bouquet and the green trees would look great against that color!  The orange I posted is still very earthy and neutral, so I think it would compliment the earthy tones in the photo! :)

I'm going to have some wine with dinner, then go look at colors!  See what we come up with.

This looks very cool and chic!

Tonight we purchased 'Toasted Chestnut'.  It looks different to me in person than on the monitor, but you get the idea.  I hope it doesn't look horrible!  We'll know by the end of the weekend...

Yay, you went with an orange-y hue!!! :)  (I think, I googled it... is it by Behr?) I found this pic online, and I think it's gonna look gaaaaawgeous!! :)

Thanks, Allie!  It is Behr!  I like Benjamin Moore too, but they close at 6pm during the week.

I hope it looks good with all the dark furniture, but I'm thinking it should.  It's funny, because our house is a custom color by the builder, so we matched it to an Oatmeal color Behr has.  We were looking at darker neutrals and they all felt so cool.  We then started looking at the Style Color cards, and they paired the Oatmeal with the Chestnut and we loved it.  I was then like "wait, this is kind of what Allie described!".  LOL.

I can't wait to see how it turns out,  Your luck with the darker neutrals is what I was talking about with colors being funny...

You should be fine with the dark furniture, we have out living room painted a golden color and have a huge dark brown leather sectional and I think it works well...

please excuse the mess, taken in the middle of unpaking/organizing and again I have yet to hang anything on my walls...

mis1110 that room does look great!  I'm excited to paint the wall this weekend!  I just have to stain a frame for one of our outside doors, first.  I can't wait to see how it comes out.  Then our area rug and canvas need to hurry up so we can finish the room!  haha.

And no worries, no judgments here!  We got engaged 10 days after moving into our house, so even though I still did little things here & there during the planning process, I'm just starting to tackle all the other decor I put off!

I am the worst when it comes to hanging stuff on the walls... I can never make up my mind, with what I want where.  DH doesn't care for holes in the walls so I feel bad hanging something and then changing my mind... So I take my good ole time trying to figure out what I want where...

He leaves on Sunday for two weeks, I just may tackle hanging somethings in his absence and he'll be none the wiser if I hang them and move them before he comes back! LOL
