Anyone know anything about this? FI has been trying for the past 2 weeks to get a Texas ANG recruiter to call him, and they guy is being extremely shady. His secretary keeps telling him he'll call FI tomorrow or in an hour, and never does. Any info you ladies know would help:):)

I was looking at Military.com and Militaryonesource.com I can't find anything about a freeze. When I looked on yahoo there was a question about the freeze, I cant look at the boards (work blocked the site) but you might try that. Sorry I'm no help.

There really isn't a freeze they are just chaning a lot with the ANG they don't want people to join it they are trying to make everyone active. MY guy has been in it for 3 years and they are giving him a hard time he just now is in tech school and graduated from basic back in oct of 09 that is how long they have been putting them off. They are also not offering any sign on bonus for anything so if your guy is interested in going active try it they'l get him in quick but good luck and lots of patience on the ANG. just a heads up i don't know why they are doing this either just are I guess.

DH is an Army recruiter and the air force recruiter was telling him that they've changed the requirements right now. Basically you have to have uber high test scores and be a minority in order to join right now. Right now every branch of the military is way over strength so they're making it harder and harder to get in.

My FI is looking to join the AF or the Army, and I know he'll have really high test scores, but we're definitely not minority (catholic white people LOL).

I'm wondering if his father (retired but still works for the army) or little brother (in the reserves) will have any pull.

RxCate his father and brother won't have any pull but if he wants to get in he needs to go Army and do it SOON! There's been rumors around dh's office that the military will make mission for the year by early february meaning it will be next to impossible to get in.

Oh marvelous - Yeah we're going to speak to a recruiter soon - he was online chatting with a rep from the AF the other night.
