We're slated to get married on 9/17/11, but we're going to have to move the date because of the Great Balloon Race in STL (hot air balloon festival).

We're currently in the closing process on our first home. See pictures in bio!

Oh, and I'm technically a lady in waiting.

It's funny that you say you are "a lady in waiting"... Jes & I where gathering wedding ideas and ring shopping since October 2008. However even though vendors said congrats on the engagement, I never felt that we where engaged until he asked "will you marry me?" and I accepted (which was April 2009). I mean it was only time that we got engaged... we had been living together through out college (from 2004). But I never knew what to call that period where I didn't consider us engaged, despite the fact we where wedding planning... I like that phase "lady in waiting".

So we decided to cancel our wedding and have a backyard tent wedding!

Since we were hit with the outrageous tax bill, we were going to have to put off doing our 15K sq ft backyard until after the wedding, so not until spring of 2012. We were both just so unhappy with our ex-venue that we tried to come up with other options. He had a dream two nights ago that we poured money into our backyard, got a tent, got married by a fountain that we "built" (in the dream), and had everything we wanted and everyone there we wanted.

So, we're officially having a backyard tent wedding with probably 200 people. We couldn't be more excited. :D
