Ok.. Hubby has given me a budget of $7000.00 for our vow renewal in 2014. But i dont wanna spend all of the $7k. I wanna get it done for as cheaply yet classy as possible. I have been to thrift stores and yard sales looking for items. o luck yet but keepin my fingers crossed. So i have decided to buy a "gently worn wedding gown"> Its not a big deal to me if the gown is worn as long as its what I want.  So my search is on! All i know is i want it to be lace! So did you or are any of you ladies purchasing a gently used wedding gown?

I didnt....but I dont see anything wrong with doing that! These dresses are soooo expensive and come on we wear them once maybe twice for pictures and were done! So if you find a gown you love so what if its gently used! Think of it this way...the gown was wore to celebrate love...and you are just celebrating love all over again in it!  Not sure if you have been on this website yet but this is one of my favorite websites http://www.recycledbride.com/ Good luck!

I did!  I actually made a profit on mine.  I bought my dress for $800 (which was originally close to $2000 in the bridal store brand new) from a bride who had worn her dress only once.  She included her veil and crinoline too.

After I wore it, I started out trying to sell it at $950 (thinking I would get talked down lower), but lo and behold it sold at that price.  So I ended up making a $150 profit, which DH and I used for our honeymoon.  Not bad, eh?

and i had a fortune cookie last night, that said : "simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" which is my new wedding motto lol, so i think you can deffinatly do it for under $7k!

I think it's a great idea! If my parents hadn't offered to pay for my dress (therefore making it more of an event I did with my mom), I would have most definitelu bought one used! Another site to check out is preownedweddingdresses.com i think that's what it is~ You can do it!

I think that is a great idea! I did not get a gently used dress but I did get my dress on sale for 399 at David's Bridal.  I am going to have it cut into a cocktail dress afterwards so I can wear it on our first anniversary and to other functions.
