are any of you ladies doing this?

i've always been so fascinated with who my grandparents' grandparents were and so on

i think it'd be a great way for dh and i to do as we work towards making our own little tree =)

kinda hard tho since my parents were immigrants and he is af-am so eventually, i think we're gonna hit a wall as far as written records go

my uncle traced my maternal grandmother's side all the way to diego silang ; i'd love to find out about my dad's side of the fam

I haven't personally done it.  My great-aunt traced my maternal grandfather's side.  I have been helping my aunt trace my maternal grandmother's side.  We have found an ancestor that actually came over on the Mayflower and an American Indian.  On my paternal grandmother's side someone had done it and made a book called 50 1st cousins.  We were also able to trace back to 2 people on the Mayflower (John & Priscilla).

I would love to also do one for my paternal grandfather's side.

Ancestry.com was pretty cool, but I personally love geni.com

It doesn't have all the information like ancestry, but it's kinda like facebook for geneology.
