DH and I will be celebrating our first anniversary on April 10, 2011. I know that many of you have already celebrated your 1st (or maybe even 2nd anniversary!)..or making plans for that significant day that is quickly approaching. What special plans did you do /or will do for that special milestone celebrating your first year of marrried life?

we had wanted to take a small trip, but i'm in school full time right now, so we're watching our budget. instead of a trip, we treated ourselves to a Broadway show, dinner at our favorite italian restaurant (the same restaurant where we had our rehearsal dinner) and we also got a mini version of our wedding cake :)

jamichael I love the idea of doing a small version of the wedding cake! That's wonderful. I want to do that, too! The first anniversary gift is supposed to be paper, so I've been thinking about that. I'm pretty sure he'll get me a book, because I'm a reader anyway, but he's not a big book fan so I don't think I can really do the same thing. Maybe tickets to something? But that would only work if something was happening right around the time of the anniversary. I would love to copy jamichael and go to the place where we had our rehearsal dinner.

A nice dinner and going out to a show or getaway weekend would be nice too :o) congrats

We are going to celebrate our 1-year anniversary in May....

At our wedding we had anniversary cards at each of the tables which folks were supposed to sign...and the idea of the cards was that we would open the anniversary card on the corresponding year of that table # so that table #1's card would be opened on our first anniversary, table #2's card on our second, etc.  So my idea is to do 3 things on our 1-year anniversary (and subsequent other anniversaries - maybe start a tradition?). 

• First is go out to dinner at the place where we had our first date which is also where he proposed to me.
• Second, read our anniversary card (maybe during dinner).
• Third, watch our wedding video. 

That's about all I have planned!

For our anniversary we are going to have our honeymoon.

I hope to at least go away for a few days. You all have some great ideas though! =)

DH booked a cruise, so we will be in Ft. Lauderdale for a few days before we board the same ship we went on our honeymoon!!!!  And I just found out that we will be staying in the same suite at the same hotel that we did when we were there in November starting out our honeymoon!!!..I love my DH :)
