Last night my ffi and I were hanging out and one of his good friends called and told him he proposed to his gf yesterday and, of course, she said yes. I was immediately excited for them but then it was quickly followed by ah, yes, another happily engaged couple we know, and it's not us... and then I felt like I had to almost hold back tears. Sigh* ANOTHER one... But! Earlier we ran out to the store and when we came back I walked into his room and there was a jewelry store catalog on his bed (that came in the mail promoting VDay sales) open to the pages with engagement rings. When ffi saw it he quickly grabbed it and brought it back to his mom and she yelled down the hallway (in a goofy way) "Oh! I meant to put that in someone else's room! Sorry!" Then I heard him whisper to her, "None of those are right anyway!" hehe So I don't know if she meant for me to see that or not, but anyway, that was my excitement for the day. Sorry, just had to vent a little! How's everyone else's day??

I did the same thing when my cousin got engaged... initially I was so happy, then came the full on disappointment... and they are disgustingly cute... She was a college cheerleader and he was a football player and it was all to cute for me. Still is. Really, I am just bitter.... there is always Valentine's Day... *sigh*

Oh i soooooo know how you feel.

2 of my friends have reciently got engaged, one of which im in the wedding, and i have a huge feeling that my bff will be getting proposed to on valentines coz it's also their one year anniversary, and hes giving sooo many hints. Im happy for all of my friends but i mean they have been with their partners for 2 or 3 years at the most. I've been with my guy for almost 8 YEARS and now the only girl in my group of friends without a ring! Its hard not to get upset and jealous.

But stay strong girls, our day will come.... hopefully sooner than later! :-)

I am no longer a Lady in waiting but trust me I was one for years! I still remember that feeling of why not me! I would try to be happy for the person but inside I was so jealous! When my FI went to Japan for 4 months we had been dating 5 years by then. During those 4 months I knew 12 people who got engaged and they all had been dating way few years then we had! It was so hard pretending to be happy for them. Just remember though ladies that your day will be here soon and it will be one of the best days of your life!
