I've never ever gotten anything of mine waxed before, but I'm seriously thinking I want to do this for the wedding... well, more importantly, the honeymoon! :)

So does anyone have any recommendations for where I could go? How much? I'm in the south bay.

Also, I assume I don't want to go the day before, but I obviously don't want to go a couple weeks before the wedding either. Would 2-3 days be good?

Thanks in advance! :)

Not sure of any places in the south bay. I would try yelping it. A brazilian lasts for about 3-5 weeks so take that into consideration. I think 2-3 days is good. :) I think it would be an awesome surprise for your fiance! :)

If you're in the area, Palo Alto has a spot called Stript Wax Bar that I loved (locations in SF & Oakland too)!  Great job, friendly, nice atmosphere & totally made me comfortable. Cost wise, you're looking at around $60

I would recommend a little more than 2-3 days because it will be your first time & the area can sometimes be red.  Maybe more on the 4-5 days just to be safe but I'm sure if you call they can recommend too :)  Good luck!

European Wax Center!!

They have locations all over the Bay.  I would definitely go 4 days in advance, if it's your first time.

I rec. my salon I get my nails, toes, and brazailan done at! Helen's Nails in Redwood City, ask for Kim. She's fun, funny, and does a really great job. Runs $35 for the wax. and 3-5 days is perfect timing.

Thanks everyone for the recs. The place I was planning on going to is booked solid for the entire month of June, so I'm still looking. Ugh.

For those of you that did recommend a place, do you know if they do "double dipping?" I'm really trying to avoid that.

No double dipping at my place!  They are extremely sanitary :)

No double dipping at the European Wax Center.  They use new sticks everytime they need more wax, which seems like 30 per session depending on what you're getting waxed.

Thank you so much, Ms.August! I went today to the EWC in the El Paseo shopping center. They have a special, where if you're a first time customer, you either get a free wax service or a brazilian at 1/2 off. So it only cost me $21, was totally quick and easy, and wasn't anywhere near as painful as I thought it was going to be.
