I was born and raised in Las Vegas and I was wondering if anyone out there was planning a wedding that actually lives here.  The only reason I ask is because a lot of people planning a Vegas wedding seem to be from other places and all about the strip.  I get it, but since I live here its not really where I envision my wedding.  I was just wondering if anyone is planning a wedding not on the strip or has any reception/chruch recommendations that doesn't involve the strip.

Thanks!

I have lived here since July 2009. I love it and I'm getting married at Griffin Mansions. I did not want a 'Vegas' wedding. This place is off the strip and just seems like a wonderful place to get married.

I live here- but a Cali girl ALL THE WAY.
My Dh was born and rasied here. I have really gotten a taste of all the venues in Las Vegas, since I couldn't really afford to have a good wedding on the strip (don't get me wrong- it's doable) but I wouldn't be able to invite EVERYONE I love.

I know of Golf Clubs, Golf Courses, and a few banquet halls and event centers. Please feel free to PM me- tell me your budget, and I can suggest a few sites. As for churches- I don't know of any, but I do know one church, but it is baptist.

Trust me, there is life beyond the strip lol ;)

I am planning my wedding in vegas for next october. Can any locals help me? My head is spinning on the different places I could get married- I do not want elvis or any other "different" type of wedding i just want a nice traditional ish wedding. We havent got loads of money so the big hotels are out so we are looking at chapels or chapels in some of the smaller hotels. Also there will only be about 10 of us, where can we go for a nice meal to celebrate after? Im from the UK. thanks x
