I'm 14wks3days and these past few nights I have been up staring at the walls and my hubby who is sleeping like a baby. Tonight I'm going to try some tea and maybe a warm bath before I get to bed and hope that it works. I'm miserable today :(

Me...this morning!  I'm 12w5d...I woke up at 3:30 and was WIDE AWAKE!  I couldn't even remotely relax and go back to sleep.  I'm helping host my SIL's baby shower this saturday so I just kept thinking about decor and food and what not.  But i've noticed that I wake up every night at 11:30, go back to sleep, wake up at 1:00, pee, and then usually wake up around 3:30 or 4 to pee again and then BAM...wide awake!  Which ticks me off because my alarm goes off at 5:15. :/

I don't have an issue falling asleep...it's getting back to sleep after waking up for a potty session.  I sat there and played on my phone for an hour and then just cuddled with the dogs for the last 30 minutes.  Needless to say i'm feeling a little restless and tired at the moment!  DH may be dealing with dinner tonight...I work until 5:30 and get home at 6...so all I want to do is lay down!  Plus i've been dealing with a cold for a week...it just won't go away!

I've actually been sleeping better for the past week or so. I'm 12w3d. The constant waking up for potty breaks is not there anymore. I feel so much better actually being able to sleep all night. I hope it goes away for both of you as well.

It's weird because I thought I was lucky.... No morning sickness, nausea, weird cravings or food aversions. My potty breaks happen way more during the day than at night.  Now it's like I'm getting bombarded with symptons. My allergies have been crazy, I can't stand the smell of my favorite foods (Chinese & Thai) and now I'm dealing with insomnia. I thought the 2nd trimester was suppose to be the easy one???

Hmm...maybe your 2nd tri will be the bad one since 1st was so good? This is baby 4 for me, and 2nd tri has always been the best one for me. It doesn't really sound like your symptoms are that bad. Allergies would probably be happening anyway, right? The food aversions could happen at any time and last the whole pregnancy, so nothing too weird there. I'm sure that the insomnia is just a phase that will pass. Have you been extra stressed or worried? Sometimes that's all it takes to mess with your sleeping habits. If nothing else, remember that 40 weeks isn't really that long. It will be over before you know it, and then you'll actually miss what it was like to be preggo. lol

My m/s started to go away last week but that's when the allergies hit me head on, I didn't have a voice Thursday or Friday, left work early Friday, and still sound like a frog!!!! LOL...and i was taking sudafed like the dr told me and then turned to robitussin DM since it was on my list of ok's...but still sound funky, sneezing, snotty, and an occastional cough.  But no sore throat!

I really hope that the allergies and cold go away because it would stink to deal with this the rest of winter.  My neighbor said she dealt with allergies and cold her whole pregnancy.  :(  But i'm ok with sounding like a frog since i'm not longer throwing up...it's a "pick your battle" situation!  LOL...

If your insomnia gets worse alot of pregnant women talk about taking unisom.  That could always be an option later down the road!

I had a relatively easy first trimester with the exception of sleep. It got a little better for a couple of weeks but I am right back at waking up multiple times a night and not because I have to pee. I have lowered the a/c so much my electricity bill has skyrocketed but it's the only thing that helps. Maybe the universe is preparing us all for having to wake up a bunch of times during the night? :)

I've only been allergic to animals nothing this major. I mean I have been walking around with a hanky and a purse full of tissues for the last 2 weeks. I can't ttake Benadryl because it gives me the shakes, so I have a call into my doctor to see if I can take Sudafed.

I do hope this insomnia is a phase because I can't be sitting here in my office contemplating closing the door, cutting the lights and making up for the sleep I missed out on  :)

onetxjewel I'm hoping it will be something I can cure this week with changing my bedtime ritual. I'm sure that is part of the problem.

I didn't realize that pregnancy could intensify allergies. DH says it makes me snore really loud though. lol I've noticed that my nose is always all stuffed up when I wake up, so I'm assuming that has something to do with it. It isn't something that affects me during the day though.

@octobersky-I can't take benadryl either because i'm allergic. Today i didnt take robitussin or sudafed and just took zyrtec and i'm feeling better.
