Anyone think more categories in the Photos section would be good?

I'd really like to see that - like maybe a "Top 10 Tags" section!

I think that's a good idea. The categories listed there (e.g. reception, etc.) are meant to be the "Top 10 Tags", but some more tags there may make it easier to find stuff.

Looking through which photos are tagged most, it seems these tags are pretty popular:

* bouquet
* centerpiece
* favors
* hair tags: chignon, updo, pulled back, long

Anyone have any other tags in mind?

This is unrelated, but while I was poking around photos, I thought it would be interesting to see which photos get saved most by people so I made this page:

It's photos saved most by people in descending order. Seems that people love hair photos! I've been meaning to make it possible to sort the photos of a specific tag by popularity so I'll see if I can get to that.

I suggested that earlier, but no one responded =oP i think it would help to organize all the photos a great deal. I have some where around 2000 photos and had a list of tags all the way down my page. I had to re upload some photos from other users just so I can put in less tags.

I think the flowers section should have sub categories , like bouquet, centerpiece, flower girl basket, ceremony flowers ect...

Dress should have sub categories : By style (A-line, mermaid)

There should be a category for jewelry; with sub-categories: necklaces, bracelets, rings ect..

There should be a category for hair pieces: sub categories: veil, tiaras, hair jewels, hair flowers

There should be a spot for favors and welcome baskets

As well as a section for photography: sort of an idea book on poses. I have a section tagged photography, so I can show my photographer what I'm going for in terms of our photo shoot.

Joe, I love seeing the most popular photos - that's a great idea! I think that should definitely become a permanent feature. One of the best things about this website is how simple and clean it is, and I'd hate for that to get lost - but there are just so many pictures now, even the most obsessed bride couldn't possibly have time to go through them all. The current categories and the color tags are helpful, but I think there could be more without it getting too complicated. I like She1's idea of having subcategories within the categories - so you could look at the whole category or just a subcategory, depending. And I also totally agree that having a photography section would be great (I currently have one tagged "photography I love"), because for me, getting ideas for our photography that is the #1 reason to look at other people's photos.

Thanks for your suggestions! She1, sorry we missed your earlier post about this topic. We try to monitor the forums for feedback, but sometimes we miss some. Another way to suggest something is to use the feedback link at the bottom of every page (we'll see this for sure).

Summary of people's suggestions:

* Adding more categories - agreed. I'll figure out which ones to add.

* Adding subcategories - agreed.

* Too many tags - Right now, it's just an alphabetical list of all tags. Perhaps we should sort it by which tags have the most photos and then only show 15 tags at a time. This may make loading the page slow, but we can see. It has the benefit that if a particular tag is important to you (e.g. photography), it will naturally bubble to the top so it's easy to find.

* Adding a section for photography - "Photography" is a little different than the existing categories, but I could add it so it only appears when you are looking at your own photos. I'm wondering if the tag sorting feature I mentioned earlier would work for this as well. I'll look through things - if a lot of people have a section for "photography" then I'll add it as one of the main categories.

It's ok joe. I never put it as a separate post, it was in response to someone else's suggestion on how to make the site more user friendly. So I can see how it could have slipped by you =o)

By the way, there should also be a section for flower girls, ring barer, and maybe one for inspiration boards... just some thoughts =o)

I'd like to be able to searc tag within a category or use the clor tags by category. For example if I am looking at invites and want to narrow my earch by color, etc.

What is there were recommended tags fr you to choose from. It might be helpful for newbies to make sure they tag appropriately.
