*** Attention all Californians!!! ****

ok now that I have your attention...... :)

I need Advice, I'd like to plan a little getaway with my DH and son. Where in California is good for vacationing? Family friendly? Maybe beach, theme parks? Great food. DH and I have already been to L.A. while it was nice I'd like to try something new.....

I really like the San fransisco bay area..... Really good food on the wharf (I think that is sf bay... Someone correct me if I'm wrong!) lol...

I love San Francisco too..tons to do..there is a Six Flags Animal Kingdom near by too..Vallejo I think. My kids love that place..Aquariums..Parks..ALOT!

You can try Laguna Beach in Orange County (I live right up the street) theres always stuff to do and Disneyland is like 25 min away.

How about San Diego Melly?  They have Sea World there and Legoland and the weather is nice. 

I'm from San Francisco so you could do Great America which is Santa Clara (45 minutes away from SF) or Six Flags Animal Kingdom (formerly named Marine World) but they have big rollercoaster rides.  There is also Santa Cruz beach boardwalk (which reminds me of the Jersey Shore) and that is about an hour and half from SF.  SF doesn't have any theme parks in it per se, except when the fairs come around to the area.  I think the only fun thing they have for kids would be like the Blue & Gold Fleet tour (its on a boat around the bay), Alcatraz island, Angel Island, or the Shark Experience at the wharf.  Its basically a concrete jungle unless you cross the bridges to the east bay or south bay.

You could also do the duck tour around SF (the bus goes in the water next to giants stadium) Its pretty cool & would be fun for the kidos

I would also suggest San Diego as well...they have the sea world, Lego land and the wild animal park...it is not to busy like LA...

Monterey is lovely, and Carmel, too. They have a big aquarium there.
