I've been attending school for nursing for over 2 years now (2 years of generals, no class this semester bc I'm all caught up and am basically waiting to get in now). I've petitioned I think 4 times now.. each time since I've been "program ready" to be accepted into my core classes. This would've been my 5th time, and the first time that I would've had a good chance of getting in since the school is so far behind getting people through the program. Well, I petitioned in September for this January and didn't get in, but I was planning on trying again in December for next fall. It would've been perfect timing to start right after the wedding. I happened to go on the school website last night and they moved the petition dates to last week and never told anyone so I missed the dates!!! I was so mad. I was crying to FI bc I've already been so frustrated about waiting so long and then the first time I actually have a chance to get in, I miss it! I called the woman who is head of the program today and asked why no one was notified (the dates as of last month were December) and she basically had no answer and said "well, you missed it so you missed it." SO frustrating!! She also mentioned there will be changes being made to meet the criteria for petitioning the next time but she wasn't at liberty to talk about it yet. WHAT?? I was almost ready to say forget the whole thing, but I still want to do it so I guess I'm waiting another round.

Oh no that sucks! Is there another school you can attend for nursing, this one sounds totally disorganized! Good luck!!!!!!!!

All of the other surrounding schools in my area are in the same backed up situation (crazy long wait lists) or they're private schools that cost almost $40,000 for an associates degree! I also found out today that same (not mine) school is on like the "warning list" by the state of losing their accreditation bc their pass rate is not high enough.
