Hi ladies! I've been missing from the boards for a few days because I've been SO SICK and today is the first day where I'm feeling slightly human again. After my ultrasound last Friday (which I'll recap in a minute), I started to feel more and
more nauseous and proceeded to spend the weekend between the couch and the bathroom. Starting a couple weeks ago, I've been throwing up once a day. This past weekend, it got so bad that I couldn't keep anything down. It didn't matter what I
ate/drank, it would be up shortly and the sessions were so violent that I felt weak/drained/lightheaded afterwards.
I would start bawling to Dh to help me but what could he do? He would try to rub my back but that also made me gag. I went to the hospital on Monday and I was prescribed Zofran (originally intended for chemo patients). My midwife had told me
that there's a small risk of it harming baby, so I was very nervous to take it but then I was told that I'm dropping weight & dehydrated and baby isn't getting any nutrients due to my extreme vomiting so I took one pill. It didn't work that whole
day so I assumed it wasn't a fit for me. I took a preggo-approved sleeping pill (Unisom) that night and I was out cold. Tuesday...I didn't take any pills/meds and did not vomit!! Woohoo!!! Yesterday was the same so I don't know what happened??? I
haven't taken Zofran since that one pill but I have been taking Unisom every night. Maybe that's the key? Either way, I'm so happy I'm feeling better. Although still a bit queasy & lightheaded, it's WAY better than the weekend.
As for the ultrasound, I was sooo scared but we saw baby immediately and the heartbeat was going nice and strong at 152bpm!! It was the coolest feeling and I couldn't wipe the grin off my face all day :D I can't believe that our baby has a
heartbeat!!! We told my parents on Saturday and they are so ecstatic! We gave them copies of the ultrasound and now they're hanging on their fridge :) So, here is our little Jujube!!!!!
