yes, it is... HUGE FREAKIN TREE

christine!!! gurl it took overnight and about an hour this morning for me to readjust!!

but then, i love him - and i know he's not doing it b/c he doesnt want to get married - he's just alwyas been scared of heights and flying... i think the thought of 5 hours in a tube of steel shooting throught the air just started making him freak out... plus the last flight he was on was turbulent...

whatevs, i'm ready to get the show on the road - so no matter where it will be, we'll still be married after all...  altho i told him i am gonna be expecting him to figure out his fear of flying thing by the time my bday rolls around next year!!!  

that's the trade off - no flying now but he's got to pony up and fly in may!!

KRYS--->  so we've been tossing the idea around of moving to SD... he'd had to switch departments but he says he's willing to do it for me...

aside from UTC/UCSD area (where i used to live); what other areas do you reco??  i kinda dont want to go north like poway or RB or scripps, but if it's cheaper???

we'll be in SD Oct 9-12 to visit Balboa Park and visit SD neighborhoods

I would suggest flying a red eye.  That way he can just sleep the whole plane ride. Also, my friend once told me that she takes Tylenol PM before so she sleeps like a baby.  Good luck!

jan55 - um thanks for the suggestion... red eye doesnt work - we tried that once from lax to la guardia... no amount of pre-flight drinks or drugs will change his mind - yes he'll get sleepy for sure and not be awake in-flight - but those fixes dont change his train of thought about getting on the plane before we take a trip and frankly i dont have the patience to deal with his anxiety for weeks before we take a trip...

it's all in his mind - so i'm just gonna let him handle it and be as supportive as i can as while he finds a way to manage his fear and hopefully the fear wont be so paralyzing...

i'm thinkin to save $$$ we could stay at the sheraton - shelter island... it's ok - i've stayed there before.. or maybe the W downtown...  not really sure what to do...  i guess we could only take one week off instead of the 2 we orig planned... 

or maybe we can take the coastliner that goes from LA to Seattle?? fck, now what??  ok wedding ceremony location is done.. now what to do or where to go after??

there's always the beach, hotel del coronado (BIG $$$$), sunset cliffs, point loma (where we were married), there's the point loma light house, old town (spanish architecture and influence), Mission Bay boardwalk.... o, UTC, good good stuff...   Girl, when you get out here, I'll show you around.  Any way that I can help, let me know.

well, i used to live in san diego (off nobel drive)...for about 3 years before i moved to LA...

there's a ton of stuff youre right!!  i'm thinkin if we stay at the W hotel downtown, we can just cab it to the bars! hahaa  and then if we stay at the sheraton shelter island - we can cab it also and it will be far away from street noise (altho the planes overhead!!)...   i know the hotel del is fantabulous - but i get creeped out when i'm there - like i'm gonna see the twin girls in the hallway from that one movie with jack nickolson.. dangit what's it called???

i dont know... i'm still readjusting myself from hawaii to something local.. blah...and b/c i lived in san diego, it doesnt seem like a honeymoon spot, if that makes sense...
