I've been thinking of giving it a go.  It gets fab reviews on beauty.com but I wanted to check with my PW ladies.  I mainly want to control shine and I have a semi-oily T zone and dry cheeks.  My skin tone isn't too uneven, but there's a bit of redness under the nose.

If I'm just starting out, should I just get the foundation?  What's the mineral veil?  Multi-tasking also looks like a great concealer, which is something I currently don't own.

Opinions/reviews/thoughts???

YAY YAY YAY!!! I swear by Bare Minerals! I have very oily/acne prone skin.  And yes, definitely get the mineral veil, it's the key to the whole thing.  This is my tip to control oil.  I put mineral veil on first, then the SPF foundation, then the rest of my makeup, then the mineral veil on top to seal everything in.  I bought the multi-tasking bisque but wasn't super impressed with it.  I just use the foundation as my concealer.

I was at ulta last week and they lady there told me I wouldn't like Bare Minerals because I have oily skin.  She recommended the new Bare Minerals matte formula instead which wasn't in a kit so I didn't purchase it.  I was confused because I've heard a lot of oily skin positive reviews on the normal formula.  Maybe the key is in the mineral veil.  Thanks for the review, FutureMrs!

Hi Jamie!  My first mineral make-up experience was with Bare Minerals when they first came out on tv with their infomercials.  I did like the products, but also found that I would turn a little orange by the end of the day because of the oxidation.  Also, I just found cheaper products that work better for me so I've since steered away from Bare Minerals.

Since then, I have discovered other mineral products and I do like Everyday Minerals better (right now, I actually use Physician's Formula and it works fine for me but probably not good on oil control).  Check out Everyday Minerals.. they have different finishes and you can also get samples to try before ordering a regular size jar.

I read my reviews on Makeupalley.com as well.  Check them out there for Everyday Minerals.  I also read good things about Pureluxe and right now there's a 25% off sale but they also have samples that you can try out too.

I have oily skin and hate Bare Minerals foundation, but I'd never heard that was a common thing for people with oily skin.... I love their eye-shadows though. LOVE. The foundation just collects in all the little baby hairs on my face and looks cakey somehow. It looks GREAT at a distance but horrible in natural light or up-close.

I did my Makeup trial yesterday and just wanted to show off the Bare Minerals in action. I love it because it looks so natural on me.  And please excuse my weird smiles, I look a little off!

I love my Bare Minerals make up. It took me a little bit to figure out how much I needed to cover what I wanted covered. I wear it all the time and would hate to go back to liquid foundation.
