i've been a bm 5 times, and i've never had to help the bride tinkle...

help her get dressed - check;
help her with her shoes - check;

help her tinkle - nope!!

i wonder if i'm going to need someone hold my wedding dress - i think i'd be uncomfortable - but then again my a few of my bms used to hold my hair back when i was puking after too many midori sours...so maybe not too uncomfortable? heeheheee

You are up late! Can't help with this topic--never had to help in this area either, and it shouldn't be an issue with my dress (thank goodness).

Good luck!!

A trick to avoid the help of your BMs is to sit facing the toilet. You're less likely to ruin your train/dress and can lift up the front part and have more control. ;)

HTH!

Ever since seeing 27 dresses this has been something I have not been looking forward to. One thing for sure...no cameras will be allowed so I don't end up on a post like this ;)

haha MissMandy! I have actually been told that - by a childhood etiquette tutor! I think that's really one of the reasons the big gowns with lots of crinoline or the heavily beaded ones I can't really lift just scare me!

So, I have had the so called "honor" of holding the dress for the great tinkle as a MOH for my cousins wedding last year. It's just something that needs to happen. We got a major case of the giggles while I was helping her out.

So, I get my revenge on her as my MOH in 4 months! Chalk it up to another one of the glamorus duties for the MOH!
