Hi! This is my first post on this board. We have signed a contract with Battery Gardens for Labor Day Weekend of 2013. My fiance and I loved the venue, and it was just in our price range. However, I am beginning to have anxiety about the size of the venue. We are expecting ~160 people, with a sit-down dinner, and am very afraid it will be tight. We recently heard of an event there that was very crowded (also because many people were not dancing), and I don't want to be packed in like sardines! We are having a band, so hope that will contribute to lots of dancing. Has anyone had a wedding there around the same size? What was your experience? Greatly appreciate it!

I would say you should call and see if you can come in when they have the space set up for an event. That way you can see how they set up the tables and get a feel for accommodating 160 people.  If anything they can move some tables out after dinner if it feels too tight.

You have plenty of space at that venue. They will most likely offer your party outdoor access as well and Labor Day should be great weather.
