Mircogestin is great if you are just starting out. I have been taking it for over 6 years, and I just went to the gyno for the first time in two years this past Tuesday and she said that after taking it as long as I have, the inside of
your uterus starts to atrophy and you start spotting and/or missing periods (this is consistent with what has been happening). The problem is that you can't go that long on a progestin-only pill; your body will eventually need estrogen. The
weird thing is that I first started taking Microgestin because a stronger pill was making me spot! Anyway, I will be starting Ortho-tricyclen soon due to my various issues.
The most important thing to remember that everyone is different; listen to your doctor, and take others' personal experiences with a grain of salt. If you run into any issues with what is prescribed to you, do not hesitate to report this
to your doctor so that the appropriate BC can be provided for you.
