does anyone else have it? DH surprised me and had it preordered, so we got it in the mail a few days ago. it is amazing! DH works nights, so it's been keeping me occupied tonight!

I just saw a commercial about it this weekend. I was playing the country version last night while my DH was at work haha

I was thinking of getting Rockband for the kids "from Santa"  (a few of them still believe)  this year ..... I had no idea there were different versions ...can someone break this down for me or make suggestions ??   They range in age from 10 to 16

the game rockband comes with a mic and instruments and a disc that you put in the video game console, which has songs on it.

but, you can buy additional discs (right now the country and beatles are the only ones I've seen). but the original game does already have songs.

I think this would be GREAT for you kids since they love music! You can buy an additional guitar (one will be played as bass), and that would have you up to one singer, one drummer, and two guitarists. = ) These get up and spend time together type of video games are the only ones I play, and I LOVE them. my sis and I have competitions on who can get the highest score = )

oh, and there are like 5 different skill levels, and you can pick a different one for each instrument, so you can even out the playing field if some of the younger kids have some trouble (my nephew is 10 and plays well, but he just has a little bit of trouble with the lowest button on guitar since his hand is smaller)

They have the American Idol game .... but theyve already unlocked all the extra songs so they got bored :)    they are too good at that stuff .... I unfortunately cant play the Wii ...it makes me motion sick :(

i'm not sure if it's the same for Wii as it is for Xbox, but on the regular Rockband for xbox, you can also purchase and download additional songs individually, and there's a pretty good variety. we've downloaded Duran Duran, Blink 182, Lenny Kravitz...

i'm sure your kids will absolutely love it, even the young ones. my friend's nieces and nephews have the best time with it and they're like 8, 9 and 10 years old. but fun for adults too! it's almost better than karaoke because even people who aren't into singing can have fun with the instruments.
