Did anyone try to save a certian amount of money or anything?  I told FH I wanted to wait until next year because I wanted to save some money and pay off some bills but now I want to try sooner then that?  I really should wait though right?  I mean I obviously had a plan and I should stick to it.

I've been having the same thoughts/questions (hubby and I are hoping to start early to mid year next year). He's finishing law school and working part time, and I'm working full time. We aren't doing horribly and have a decent amount saved up, and obviously one of the things we're saving for is starting a family. But we're also saving for a down payment on a house, and of course, there are all the other typical expenses.

I've been struggling with when you know you're financially ready, too. Interested to hear the thoughts, ladies!

we are. I want enough saved to cover our out of pocket expenses for the doctors appointments and birth, and at least $1000 to put towards the nursery. We're also taking a trip to Italy & Greece before we start TTC, but if we end up deciding that we can't afford the trip the way we want to do it, all of that money will go to the baby fund, too.

I think there's a lot of people saving money before TTC since you don't really want to be in trouble while having your child. So it seems reasonnable to me. However, I guess it depends on how much you're handeling money issues. If it stress the hell out of you, you better wait and stick to your original plan. On the other hand, if you always make it, and are not that much concern about money issues, and reallly have baby fever, go for it! It really depends on you!

I think that I am going to stick to my plan.  Plus, I really want to finish up getting my Assosciates degree.  I was going to wait until my Bachlors, but I just turned 30 and my husband is going to be 40 so we can not wait that much longer.  I think a year is good.

I wouldnt wait (unless you really want too).... your never as prepared as you should be or as you think you should be.

I decided that I am going to wait until the begining of December to start trying.  This way I can get most of my schooling done and get some more bills paid off and a little more in the savings.  In December I decided to take a little weekend vacation with DH around the same time I am ovulating and plan on trying for the first time then.  I am super excited.  Maybe I will have a BFP by Christmas.
