Are you going to use (or did you) a belly binder (Belle fit or Belly Bandit) for after you deliver?

I will be purchasing a belly binder for sure, I am just not sure which one...

Any recommendations?

I am very interested in using one. I haven't done much research about it so I'm curious to learn if anyone has used it and the results.

I used the belly bandit...the bamboo one...it was a medium size, but almost too big...I didn't gain that much thou, and have lost it all plus some, she will be 5 weeks tomorrow....so I don't really know if it was that useful for me...

http://www.babooshbaby.com/servlet/the-template/theinsandoutsofbellybinding/Page

"The concept of binding the abdominal region has been around for centuries as women all over the world have wrapped their tummies tightly after giving birth to help speed the healing process of their stretched-out midsections. However the wrapping is done, it aids in the prevention of herniation, repositions the womb, increases and speeds up weight loss, and eventually tightens waistlines. Belly binding is one small trick that can make a HUGE difference in your post-baby appearance"

This is just one website. But it gives you an idea of what it is & the benefits.

How soon after birht can you start wearing it?  And what happens if you have a c-section?  I feel like I only know one person wh otried one and found it too uncomfortable to wear and give up on it.  I may just be seeking my sister's guidance.  She is a personal trainer with degrees in nutrition and exercise physiology and had her 2 kids via c-section.  She has great abs and I know her doctor made her wait months before she could workout.

Murph - this is from the Belly Bandit website:

"When should I start wearing my Belly Bandit?

The first 24-48 hours after delivery. You can start using it as soon as the day after you give birth (even after a c section)! Wearing the Belly Bandit® after a c section may help to decrease post-op recovery time by minimizing associated incision pain, which allows greater mobility post-surgery!

We recommend prior to use that you consult your physician."

I didn't get the Bell Bandit I just got a slimming band from Target for $10 and I swear it helped.  I gained about 25 pounds and lost all the weight and then some after a week.

There is a how to on Pinterest on binding with a regular cloth, might be worth checking out!

My last midwife really recommended it. I just used what they gave me and only used it for a short time because it was hot and I just didn't think about using it, but its supposed to really help with diastasis recti so I want to make sure and wear it more this time around.
