Is there anyone out there who dealt with extreme jealousy from a friend or family member while planning your wedding or vow renewal?  Anyone just acting funny because you're a Mrs.?  Getting any flack for having another wedding?  Need to vent and talk about it?

I have to admit, the WORST flack I received was here on PW and on TheKnot. People would rag on me for first of all having a Vow Renewal and also for the amount of money we were spending. Ummm, excuse me, but if your a$$ isn't invited and if you are not paying for it, shut the @#$%^ UP!!!

Someone here on PW even said that they felt I was only planning a Vow Renewal because I was bored. Dumb a$$ people.

My Bro-In-Law's gf is the worst!  She made him buy her a ring and said ok I'm getting married now too so everyone can stop talking about Za-Za & start talking about me....let's see....She wanted a ring like mine {failed}.  She wasn't satisfied so she asked for another ring {failed}.  Now she's saying since neither of the rings are diamonds that she wants a THIRD set which will be the REAL SET......She even has the nerve to say he's her husband in public!  When people ask the wedding she gets tounge-tied.  When people ask when are they getting married he says five years on good behavior......he's been saying it for five years already........GIRL I can vent ALL DAY about this broad......

haha @Fearce wow sounds like you've got a lot going on huh?

I haven't exactly gotten ridiculed (to my face...) about our ceremony and stuff.  We are planning a very intimate marriage ceremony this September so that we get right with the church - both our moms are very religious and we've been told over and over what we're doing is wrong and we really just want to become good examples for our kids too- and get everything legally taken care of.  Next year we're going to do the 'typical' marriage ceremony with the ceremony and reception.  People aren't too crazy about the idea but whatever it's not them and they're not paying for any of it so don't complain.

One of my closest friends since childhood (also my eldest son's Godmother...) has been very distant and not that helpful when it comes to the wedding.  I've asked her to be a bridesmaid but not my MOH because of how she's acted. wow...I just sounded really mean. lol

No you don't. Do it however you want since it's your day and his day! Yes the girl I mentioned is a total trip. I have plenty of stories about that scenario lol. I just take it in stride. I feel it's admiration albeit twisted ^_^
