Hi Ladies,

I am taking the plunge and getting a Brazilian wax this weekend and I was wondering if any of you have ever had one done and if so could you please share and tips or advice you have that will make it less painful :)

Thanks,

Nichole

I did it and I probably won't do it again. I have really sensitve skin and had really bad painful red bumps for about a week. Before you go make sure you exfoliate the area and about 30 mins take a couple motrins.

Thank you August27bride.

I didn't get a chance to take any Motrin or even have a glass of wine...or two :-) like I had hoped but I did go through with it.  Although there were parts that were really painful I will definitely get it done again.  However, I will make some minor changes to my future waxes.

I have had great results thus far and did opt to buy the after care package that I feel will be well worth the investment.

I'm sorry you had such a horrible experience :(

Take care,

Nichole

I'm not a huge fan of it, but it's not too bad. Sugaring is said to be a little less painful and better for your skin because its a natural mix of ingredients that stick to the root hair and not your skin. It still hurts, but not as much. Hope you like the results James2113!

The only tips I really have are ones I've heard but never follow! I've heard it helps to take an advil or ibuprofen an hour or two before hand. Exfoliate as well!

I've sugared before which is a natural form of wax that sticks to the hair follicle and not the skin. That was a little bit better, but it's more expensive so I couldn't keep up with it every month.

Agreeing with Uhlease take an Ibuprofen beforehand and make sure you exfoliate the area you are having waxed before you go.

Other than that you just have to grin and bare it :) Pun intended ;-)

I am still very pleased with the outcome.

Good luck!
