I've heard that birth control pills can lower your sex drive. Anyone ever experience this?

I have- I'm on seasonique which is supposed to be the worst one for libido- it sucks I feel bad for my hubby - luckily hes really understanding!

I never realized that I had such a low libido until AFTER I went off BC pills. I guess I just got used to only wanting intimacy occasionally.

When I went off BC it was like I was completely different. DH didn't have to try to coerce me to DTD...I was more of a willing participant (if that makes sense)...and it was definitely more enjoyable because I felt more in the moment.

So for me BC definitely effected my libido.

I've only ever been DTD while on BC, so I don't know the difference.  But what I can say is that FI has no complaints about how often, because it seems like we both equally initiate and enjoy on a very regular basis.  BUT what I do know is that different BC brands have different levels of "potency", for lack of a better term.  Quite a while ago my doctor put me on a "lighter potency" BC and I lost weight, noticed my AF got a bit heavier (but nothing too bad), etc.  Still very effective, but probably allows for a better libido too.

I honestly wouldn't know since I've been on them since I was 15, but I feel I go through ups and downs like women who aren't on it.

Oh yeah it affects me. I could go forever without DTD on the pill and I feel awful about it for my DH, but I'm going to stay on it until we decide to conceive b/c I do not want a surprise pregnancy.
