I only read the book and can't even imagine how the movie would be played out.  If you saw the movie what did you think?

I haven't seen the movie yet but I heard it was terrible. It's a hard book to make into a movie and sometimes I think books should just stay books.

I just got home from the movie. It was a decent movie definitely worth going to see but the book is way better.

How sad is the book?

I'm not asking for "spoilers" but my fiancee's sister got me this book at Christmas time and I haven't read it yet. I am no fan of sad things. I'm not someone that enjoys "a good cry". I know if I cry through much of the book I won't enjoy it.

Can anyone give me a heads up?

Thanks.

Michelle

honestly, it didn't make me cry but it was very touching.  It's a love story, wrapped up in a science fictional concept (think The Notebook meets Back to the Future less Doc, Dolorian and Einstein.)

my hopes for the movie would be that of Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind but from what I hear, it's a no go.  Damn you Rachel McAdams!

The movie was "ok"...  It didn't capture enough like the book did... But, if it did, the movie would have been easily 4 hours plus!!

I am in love with the book.. It was amazing, and even though it was confusing at times, it seemed to sum it all up for you, where the movie really didn't (in my opinion)

FI didn't read the book and gave the movie a "B", I gave it a "C".  I still enjoyed it but was disappointed that they left some main scenes (again, IMO) out, and characters....

And some of the main characters are not even the same as in the book...  The movie is mainly focusing on Clare and Henry's relationship...  And not their separate lives... KWIM??  Soo...

Read the book on my honeymoon last week and saw the movie on the plane coming back home! I loved the book (I read it in a day!) and thought the movie was OK, but I'm generally a fan of books > movies. As I was watching the movie I didn't think that anyone who hadn't read the book would have a clue what was going on.  The movie left out so many details.

i saw the movie, but did not read the book. i enjoyed the movie, probably for that very reason.

now my BFF, on the other hand, had just finished the book that afternoon & HATED the movie!
