Bouquet and Garter Toss

So Im trying to decide whether we are going to do them or not.  Our wedding is small, about 50 people, and to be honest, there aren't that many single people attending. So initially, we decided that we weren't going to do the tosses because of that. 

Then, I was reading one of the weddingbee's bloggers entry about how she had not planned on doing it either until at the reception, one of her friends asked when it was going to happen and when she responded that it wasn't the friend was bummed. So...the bride had the DJ call out all the pretty ladies to the dance floor instead of all the single ones.  Their significant others ended up routing them on and it seemed pretty fun.

So, now Im confused! Should I do it or shouldn't I? (Also, we aren't doing dances with our parents, so Im thinking, wow we don't have really anything for people to watch aside from our first dance).

Thoughts?

April, what songs did you use and did you do a separate song for like the garter take off and then another for the garter throw? If I decide to do it, our DJ has this list for me to fill out and he has garter take off, throw AND put back on. Do I need all that?

We aren't doing a toss of any kind either.  What we are going to do instead is have DJ call all couples on the floor then after a few minutes ask those that have been married less than a year to sit down, then 5 years etc. until the last couple is standing and we will give them the bouquet and garter.

 I am pretty much in the same boat Kohler wondering if I should do the whole garter toss/bouquet thing.   There are probably about 5 single people coming to my wedding, so what I'm going to do is actually give the smaller version of my bouquet to my gramma.....she'll be turing 92 3 days before my wedding.   

I'm in the same boat as Kohler and Lipia3....hardly any singles...we have decided not to do it....but i guess that could change....

I agree with SC April...it was a lot of fun.  We did garter put back on too but instead of the girl who caught the bouquet on, we had the guy put it on DH.  The DJ blind folded him.  It was pretty funny.

We did both the bouquet and garter toss...  Since we don't have that many single girlfriends I told any girl that wanted to to get out there.  Only the single guys went out and we did do the garter back on.  Here is a pic (as you can see people got a kick out of it):

For the songs, the only one I remember is bouquet toss was Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.  You can also do Girls by the Beastie Boys.

I know it seems so fun, I'd like to do it if we can pull it off and just move everyone's idea from it being  just "single people" to all beautiful ladies and all handsome gents, I think it could be a blast, you know?

hey girls...i didnt want a traditional bouquet toss so i will untie my flowers, so that no one sees and then i toss the bouquet the flowers will each fly seperatly and this way each girl can get one flower. :)

still not sure about the garter toss.. kind of, well.. umm... not my thing.lol
