Breaking the rules

So I know it's an Air Force rule that Officers and Enlisted Airmen are not supposed to fraternize.  I MIGHT just know of some people that are breaking that rule.  :)  Do you guys know of any stories like that?

My husband's parents actually met when his mom was enlisted and his dad was an officer.  The sort of dated secretly and then she got out so they could get married.  :)

That's pretty much a military-wide rule and that can include just being friends as well. DH and his roomies got into some trouble because one of his roommates was 2 ranks higher than the other two even though they'd all been in the same amount of time this guy just happened to be in an mos that made it very easy to make rank, and they were all enlisted.

FI knows a lot of couples like this. I guess there are a lot of factors that go into determining how frowned upon it is :)

I, personally, think that "rule" is BS. I have a friend whose husband is enlisted and I like her, so I will be friends with her. Her husband is in my FI's squadron, but they don't work with each other and we all hand out on the weekends and some weeknights. I can understand if my FI was his boss, because that could create some problems, but to say that they can't be friends? Uh uh.

I know I think it's sad too.  I know a guy who's in love with an enlisted girl and they have to work so hard to keep their relationship a secret

it's all bs but I can understand the reasons behind it. I would have a hard time being friends with someone that could royally screw me over if i crossed him the wrong way at work and it would be hard as a higher rank to not show a little favoritism to my buddy if he was lower enlisted.
