Hello,

This is my very first post and I wanted to share the experience I've had thus far with Milly. I ordered 5 custom designed bridesmaid dresses in early November. On average, I've been able to chat with Milly 4 times a week to ask questions, respond to questions, and get updates on the progress of the dress. I plan to pick up the dresses in early January as I will be in the Asia for vacation, so I'm saving on the shipping cost! That means, total turnaround time of less than 2 months.

This is the sketch that I used to place my order. Chiffon, dark blue, floor length.

This is the test dress image I received, about 2 weeks after placing the order. My comment to Milly was to make the top pleats in the dress slightly smaller, as they looked too obvious sticking out sideways. I was a little concerned that the gathering in the lower part of the dress didn't look like what I had in mind, but Milly assured me that the fabric they use (lining) for the test dress does not mimic the same way chiffon does. So I kind of let it go and anxiously waited for the chiffon version of the dress.

This is the pleating sample that I received, about a week after seeing the test dress. At this point I had sent all 5 bridesmaid measurements to Milly so they could proceed to order the chiffon. This was only a sample of pleats, so it wasn't the actual dress. I confirmed the design and Milly proceeded to the next stage. I'm not entirely sure how the stages work but I'm sure it's just a status tracking mechanic.

One day after seeing and approving the sample pleats, I received pictures of the gathering on the lower part of the dress. My only comment to Milly was to make the gathering on the sides more even. At this point, it seems to be nearing the end of the construction of the dress. It's still missing a black satin belt that goes under the bust, however, I really like the way it is coming out so far :)

In summary, the process has been very smooth, and the timing of their responses is great. I normally get a response within 24 hours. My recommendation is to follow up with them as necessary and to be as clear as possible about your expectations about timing. More pictures to come!!

Any thoughts on the dress so far? Have you had similar experiences with Milly?

Omg! Bok... I am so impressed with your sketch and Milly's interpretation. I ordered a gown with them. It took about 4 months... ( sometimes I got overwhelmed and didnt bother mailing them or i got busy at work). But I think they came very close to what I had in mind tho. I am yet to see it cos i'm out of town...

More pictures please and well done!

Milly was able to show me the finished bridesmaid dresses today. That means, total completion time from ordering and seeing pictures of the finished dress in 31 days. Fantastic timing!

Presenting the finished dress:
