My daughter's wedding is in September.  My daughter's bridesmaids purchased their dresses at Boston store.  They bought their size what they usually wear.  Should they have bought a size larger then they wear instead?

Hello and welcome to Project Wedding! The store that they purchased the dress from, is it an online store or did they go in an actual store? I know wedding dresses run small and have to be purchased a size or two up, and depending if they brought off the rack or had to be sized, they may have been able to get the actual size they wore. Do they already have the dresses?

One girl bought her dress in the store and the other 2 bought their dresses at the stores onine website.  They ordered the size they usually wear.  I 'm thinking maybe they should buy their dresses a little larger for alterations.  What if they gain weight before the wedding.

It sounds like either way, they may need to get them altered. I know they say they run small, but I've found the opposite in some bm dresses, so you really never know. They shouldn't worry about gaining weight before the wedding if they are cautious of it. Don't worry yourself out too much :) Welcome to PW!

It depends on the maker. Sometimes the dresses are true street sizes and sometimes they run small. Was there a sizing chart to help them online before ordering?

And welcome to PW! :)
