***BRIDESMAID DRESSES FOR SALE***

Hi ladies, so here's the deal...

As most of you know, my mom owns a bridal shop here in the valley.  I was chatting with her yesterday and she mentioned to me that a bride she has just cancelled her wedding. So now...my mom has 10...possibly 13...bridesmaids dresses on her hands!

I immediately thought of you girls and thought I should post the info here in case any of you are looking for dresses for your gals.  Here are the specs:

The dress is from Bill Levkoff, style 555 in taupe.

Tissue Taffeta spaghetti-strap gown. Front and back draped bodice with side zipper. A-line skirt.

My mom has one dress in each of these sizes: 0, 2, 6, 8, 12, 14, 16, 18, 24, 28

The dress sells for $189 for sizes 0-16; and sells for $219 for sizes 18-28.

My mom is selling these dresses for $94.50 for sizes 0-16; and $109.50 for sizes 18-28.

darm i too have bill levkoff dresses in taupe for my bm but a different style...we haven't yet ordered i wish they were the same that would be awesome!

kohler...question for you and well all the ladies....i know vendors say not to order dresses online b.c. they may be fake.  But i have found several sites that sell bill levkoff at a discount.  what do you think or know about these sites?  Like www.houseofbrides.com

I was planning on going through them...they have my dress that is $215 in stores for $125 free shipping too.

How do they get the discount....is it that they sell to stores for around $125 and then are marked up and retailed for around $200?

This is off topic for the post, but I just wanted to answer bride2be2008's question: I ordered my Bill Levkoff dresses from House of Bride. I am not sure how they get it at a discount, all they told me was that they place the order directly from Bill and the dresses get shipped to their headquarters then they ship it out immediately once they get them. It's semi frustrating dealing with HOB, their customer service is pretty poorly set-up as you have to call an area code 202 number and not a 1-800 number.

However, I placed my order in Feb and was quoted for the dresses to come in around mid-June and they came in early May- overall I am happy with my dresses and how they came out.

And Kohler: I am sad I couldn't use these dresses of your moms, the prices are a steal!

WAIT!!!   kohler---- why am i the last to know your mom owns a bridal shop??  i totally couldve ordered my BM dresses from her - i like patronizing business that I have a "connection" with--- in this case a fellow pw-er!!!  maaaaaanugh!!

Ah darn D1rty!!! Thanks for those links I will post them on there too. I have them on here, weddingbee and the knot. Ive had one reply from the knot, just saying too bad they aren't black.  Ha ;)  

that's like asking a pre-owned car salesperson - why isnt this a red car with a moonroof???

may i suggest something?? if no "bites" from all the postings - how about your mom donating them to that one organization that gives prom dresses to underprivileged girls?? it could be a tax write-off for her business???

I know, I think it was a passive aggressive way of trying to find out if she could get a deal on some other dresses or something. Whatever. Thats a good idea, re the donation thing, Ive actually not heard of the org before but I will research it and I will tell my mom about it. Thanks! :)
