I hear ya hurleygrl -- We're in the same boat and it's been horrible discouraging.

Funny that the venue was one of the easier things here lol.

Everything is so expensive, that is what is stressing me out. I am hoping to find ways to reduce the price and still get what I want. Couple tips, for a venue, try different country clubs, I found one in an upper class neighborhood that is free if you know somebody there, they just require you purchase some food. So the venue, tables, linens, table settings, servers, cleanup are all included, I just have to pay for a few hor' dourves, drinks etc. The place is gorgeous too, it has a waterfall, huge dance floor and beautiful lighting. As for a dress, if you found the dress you want, call around. Local dress shops will compete for your business and usually give you a marginally cheaper price and free alterations. My friend got her $850 dress for $500, not bad! 

WOW, wakechick, that's a GREAT tip about the country club, I encourage you to post a thread about that here and maybe even in the $5K and under Group, too!!!!

Stressing MAJOR.... money is so mean to me... :(

I'm slightly stressed, but not about the money. I'm stressed because I have no help. I am slightly energized at the thought of pulling off a fantastic wedding with a small price tag.

Oh, wait, there is one thing that stresses me! Those darn chair covers!
