California PWers!! Best Beaches?

So for our HM we decided to stay in the states instead of going to an island, because we are both from the islands. Him Puerto Rico, Me Jamaica!
So we go back and forth all the time. Nothing new to us. We would really love to see what the West coast has to offer. The Only place I have been to was Ontario on business and when I was in the Army I was stationed in Fort Irwin which is the in Barstow(the desert). We both love the water, so we love to see what the Beaches are like on that side!
Any suggestions?

I'm from San Diego, so of course, I'm going to say check out San Diego!!!  Hehe...!  Santa Barbara and Newport Beach are really beautiful too!

But also, I wanted to say check out Cantalina Island which is a small island off of Long Beach, CA if you want to do something different too!

I'm going to have to say SD beaches as well...forget about L.A. beaches they are gross! 

We love going to Santa Barbara for little getaway weekends. There are lots of restaurants around State st., wineries nearby, and we also like visiting Solvang (a cute little Dutch (?) town) which is also nearby.

I used to live in the Bay Area so I thought I'd chime in. Santa Barbara has some beautiful beaches, good food, and nice hotels. It was always a favorite place of mine to go visit and make an extra long trip for races :)

I love San Diego...Santa Barbara & Carmel. I used to live in Monterey, CA and it is sooo romantic there..you can take a drive up the Highway 1 towards Big Sur and experience the most beautiful sights.

Is there specific spot in CA that you're thinking about visiting? The coastline is so huge here and there are spots all along it that offer amazing beaches. ((:

@Shenanigans, I'm really not sure, thats why I'm asking for suggestions. I really want to be were there is a beach close by (nice beach) and lots of nice restaurants and sites..lol

Every area that is mentioned I'm goggling..Love to google!

East and west coast are so different, we really want to experience that side.
