I contacted the San Jose State University orchestra directors and asked for recommendations.  Mine graduated and moved on, but they will have good people to use.  I used a single cellist, who did a great job and traveled to Gilroy from Berkeley and played for $125.  College kids are cheap and, at that level, very talented.  They already often own tuxes and suits because of the nature of orchestra.

San Francisco music conservatory has a program called music to go which is really reasonable.

I used skyline string trio.

I called the UC Berkeley school of music and they had a compiled list of students who were interested in performance gigs. I got two violinists for $150 for 1 1/2 hours.
