I sent these pictures to Milly to see if they could make a replica of this gown

Their response was "YES WE CAN"....  I'm a little nervous they quoted me $756 excluding shipping.  I sent the same email to duosheng and they quoted me $323. 

Milly seems more official.  I love the thought of seeing my dress while i's in production. They also included tons of informaton on boning, beading, fabric etc. 

WOW - that's one beautiful dress. I can't believe how much Milly is charging these days.

If I had the option to re-do my whole dress selection I wouldn't have gone w/Milly. It was the biggest headache for me and I didn't even CARE all that much about my wedding dress.

If you're up for the challenge then I say go for it - but in my opinion that's a lot of money for a replica dress.

Here's a picture of me in my dress (looks better in pictures than it does in reality). I spent just under $400 which included shipping. It was an organza gown and I ordered it in the Fall of 2009.

But my advice would be: Talk to them about the price. tell them that's it's too high for your budget.. That may take out a portion of the price...

Kaytana - Your dress is beautiful.  You weren't pleased? 

I agree the price is a little steep for a knock-off.  But considering the actual dress is over $3,000 I was actually considering it.  I figured that because they had to make all the flowers it went toward the labor.  However, when I got the quote from duosheng I was shocked at the difference.  I dunno...  This dress can go so... wrong... if they don't know what their doing.  I've heard good things about both vendors...   I dunno.  :-/

Let both vendors show you samples of the flowers they could use on your dress..

Negociate about price..

Thay both won't give you 100% exact replica of the dress..

But I saw a recent Millly dress that looks so much like Mounique Luihiller Floral dress & I saw D have a replica of Rhianna Royal with nice flowers..

I'm leaning towards Milly because they made me a wonderful dress.. 

Give them a closer date for the wedding, Just let's say, tell them it's in first week of July..

Again, ask them to show you flower samples & talk down the price...

No I wasn't really happy with the dress. The process was just a complete headache for me and wasn't worth it in the end.

If you delve a bit deeper into the threads of this group you'll see a LOT of other disappointed and frustrated brides who went through Milly.

If you're willing to take the gamble then go for it - but just know that it IS a gamble and there is a chance that lots can go wrong when using Milly.

I have heard that Milly is significantly understaffed and the wait time and quality has suffered.  I'm thinking of going with Dousheng because it's a much cheaper gamble.  I rather gamble with $300 then $800.

I'm so sorry they said that, did you tell them that another company offered to do it for half this price?

Milly now got back to track from what I see in other forums & so.. Duosheng is also a great company..

But only Milly have the advantage of test dress & seeing the dress in progress..
