Candy Buffet

Where did the candy buffet idea come from anyway? Are people doing this in lieu of their wedding cake, as favors, or as an additional part of their wedding?

A candy buffet is basically a bunch of huge jars of candy, usually in your wedding colors. People often use this as a wedding favor.. guests grab a bag and fill it with candy!

I think Martha Stewart had a lot of candy buffet pictures on her magazine a few years ago and since then I've seen a lot of candy buffets.

yeah, my friend did that for her wedding. I thought it was a very good idea, you just have to supply the goods and the guests make their own favors! Since her colors were pink and white, she had pink and white M&Ms, pink and white marshmallows, and regular Hershey kisses (silver). I think M&Ms has a website where you can personalize those little candies.

I would consider doing small one for the kids, but not as my only favor. I feel like every bio I look at on the Knot these days is doing it. I do think it's great.

I'm just wondering what the thing will be for the late 2000's.

Mmm, candy buffet. I've been seeing them more and more in place of favors. Neat idea, give the kids a sugar high before going on the dance floor, hehe.

Hmm... so if candy buffets are the early 2000s then... I see a lot of signature drinks these days so maybe the signature drink will be the late 2000s?

Right now we're planning on 2 signature cocktails, beer and wine instead of a bar.

Who knew I was ahead of the curve ;) At least I'll tell myself that.
