Hi everyone,

I am debating doing my own invitations using the pocketfolds at CardsandPockets.com

Does anyone have any advice about how to create pocketfolds? Templates that they used with this site?

I'm worried that I wont be able to print the invitations and enclosures correctly.

I'm feeling a little clueless. THANKS!

Is this vendor on the PW site? Have you tried Vistaprint and etsy.com? They have cute and reasonable priced invites!!! So nice and affordable! I got my invite from there! It's on my bio :oD Congrats and welcome to PW!!! Cute pic!!!

Are you worried about being able to print on their pre-cut card stock? If you're worried, perhaps do a couple of test prints on card stock that you cut yourself before you place an order.

I made invitations for a family reunion last summer using the pre-made pockets from Cards and Pockets, and they turned out great. Rather than try to print on pre-cut card stock, I printed everything on 8.5x11 card stock and then trimmed all of the inserts to size.

If you're still worried, perhaps ask friends and family if anyone has any design experience or knowledge using Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. I know some ladies have been able to create their invitations using PowerPoint. Or consider hiring someone to do the graphic design for you and then you do your own printing?

Cards and Pockets offers printing services too and pretty affordible prices.

I am worried that if I have Cards and Pockets print out the invitations and enclosures, somehow the formatting will be off. It may sound a little silly. I am thinking of having them print them and cut them for me.

I ordered a sample kit from Cards and Pockets. I am sure that once the sample kit comes in the mail and I play around with the design and printing aspect I will feel more comfortable with the idea of creating my own invites.

I looked at Etsy and they have beautiful invites. The types I really like are about $4.60 an invite. That's why I figured I would try and make my own.

Wish me luck!

If you are worried about the formatting being off with Cards and Pockets, they are usually pretty good about helping answer any questions you may have. I am currently working with them for my cousin's wedding invitations and they have been awesome to work with. I recommend ordering a test print so you can see how it it looks before you place your final order.

You can also look into hiring a graphic artist to do the design for you. They will be able to format the files to fit with Cards and Pockets print specifications. I can do this work and I charge $65 for an invitation & inserts. Then you handle the printing and assembly with Cards and Pockets.

**if I have crossed the advertising line I will edit my post. I wasn't sure there. :-) **

Just FYI, DIY doesn't necessarily equal cheap. My STDs were 3.30 each after all was said and done!
