My DF is going to be going to be in flight school in a couple months so we will be moving every few months for the next couple of years. I'm planning on starting my own business, I already have my bachelors and I'm not in the right place
mentally to go back to school to get my masters right now so I figured with moving around all the time why not just be my own boss.
I'm not 100% sure what I want to do, but I'm seriously considering photography (part of my degree program) or doing social media consulting for businesses, but we'll see!
Jenndover, I hear you on the transferable jobs, but I'm not sure if it's as simple as it sounds. That's what I was originally thinking I would do because I currently work for Marriott, but it's not as simple as what I thought. You see with
Marriott (and I imagine with other large companies) regardless of how long you have been with the company you have to stay at that property and that position for 6 months before you can transfer. Second, there has to be a position opening where ever you
happen to be PCSing. And not to add anymore negativity, but often times with those companies (like Marriott) in order to move up in the company and not just stay at the same position you have to work at the big properties and all of those are in the
large cities. And lets face it most bases aren't near large cities, at least the Marine Corp isn't!
So I swear I'm not trying to rain on your parade, I just wanted to share my experience since you mentioned hotels on your list. I'm sure it can be done, but I figured it's better to know the battle before you get in it right?
Hope I don't sound too much like a negative nancy! =/
